You wake up, suddenly...

Talk about anything in here.

You wake up, suddenly...

Postby Stiletto » Sun Jan 21, 2007 12:08 pm

(...and [insert any random song] starts playing in your head!?)

Have you guys ever woken up in the morning and almost immediately hear some random song somehow pop into your head, or anything similar to that nature?

-
This morning I woke up to the theme of Sanford and Son, with both my TV and radio turned off. When I first started noticing this, it didn't seem like a big deal and I usually brush the music off as some random waking-up effect. But it's happened so many times in the past that I often wonder if there's a little radio in my head with a randomly selected playlist as an instant alarm.

What's weird is that some of the songs are ones that I have not heard of recently, but magically make a comeback in my head. I hope this isn't any indication that I am going a little bit crazy...

My brain boasts quite a large library of songs. XD So I get random songs in my head all the time, and often right after I wake up.

No, you're not crazy. It happens to me too. A couple of weeks ago, I woke up and Yankee Doodle was going round and round in my head.

I constantly have music playing in the back of my mind, so I usually try to switch the it to a praise song or something of that nature.

Wait, you mean that's not normal ?

Yeah...and during the schoolday, too. The other day I had "Aamhi Puneri" stuck in my head from when I woke up 'til the end of school.

It can be irritating if someone else has the radio on or listening to CD or something, then you get the cacophony of what's being played and what's in your head.

When I use to sleep in at the fire station, I would wake up before a fire call would come in. I would be laying there wide awake before the radio would start beeping. Other times the bells, horn and lights would wake me up.

You know, I think I have some kind of song stuck in my head ever second of every day. So yeah, I know how it feels to wake up like that.

It could be worse. You could wake up with really annoying songs like The Macarena or Hey Mickey.

One time, I woke up and heard a distorted version of the Mario Bros. theme coming through my radio. It really wasn't, though...I was in some kind of half-dream-half-awake state.

I sleep with the TV on also, so I hear music and stuff that way and whatever is coming through the TV speakers gets pushed into my brain. Usually, if I leave it on Cartoon Network, I'll hear an anime theme song or something and I'll have a sudden, strong urge to watch whatever the show is. This happens a lot when they run the early episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist, even though I have the whole series on DVD. XD

I don't wake up with music playing in my head because I don't listen to music. I don't really know the tune to many songs.

Fascinating thing, that. I've noticed that the songs that get stuck in my head the most often are ones my church choir sings.

And the artist whose songs get stuck in Q's head the absolute longest? Keith Green. I have no idea why.

Yeah, I'm usually "lucky" enough to wake up to something totally random.. like Hardware Store, video and all... <.< >.>
Or the song that Rem sings in Trigun, that Vash really likes. How random is that??? -.-
