I put it under general because I'm not sure if this fits under Book Corner, General or Someplace else. So if you feel it should go under a different category feel free to move it.

I'm sure everyone knows what illuminated manuscript is (even if they don't know exactly what they're called); it's those ancient books (most famously bibles) that were illustrated and written per hand by monks in the Middle Ages. Most famous example is most likely the Book of Kells. Recently, however, work has begun on a modern-style illuminated manuscript called the St John's Bible. Using several different styles from Christian artists this book (more than half-way completed) will be finished in 2008. Already some of the books (like Acts and the Gospels) are for sale (albeit a tad expensive - though expenses go towards the production of the Bible itself).

I have to say I like the idea of a modern illuminated Bible and if it's not too expensive I'd love to buy one but most likely (and very sadly) it will probably end up outside my price-range.

Any thoughts?

Isn't that being produced by a group in Minnesota?
