I too am wondering how the Knights are going to increase web security, because last I checked they were just super-friendly users who helped newbies get to know their way around the forums.

I hope this is an acceptable summary, but since so many people are asking I may as well give a brief history of the Knights of CAA.
Some time ago, a member asked to create a semi-official organization by that name. What exactly these members would do was very clear, though issues such as reporting trolls or serving as a welcome party were raised. The organization existed for a time, but ultimately faded into obscurity due to lack of purpose.

Who needs a name? In my humble opinion, if the organization died from lack of purpose, bringing it back would probably result in the same outcome. Why not just do what you can to help make CAA a better place and encourage others to do the same? We don't need an organization to do that, just people who do what they can to establish a friendly Christian environment. If you see something that needs to be done either do it yourself, try to get others to help you if you need reinforcements, or bring it to the attention of the mods if they need to be involved. Making a semi-official organization to do so, especially when such a thing died in obscurity before, doesn't seem to be necessary to me.

hi,
Those are good points. I guess what I am suggesting is to start a new more agressive group whose job inaddition to greeting newbies and and getting them situated is to help administrators police this site for innappropriate threads or posts. if any one has any opinion about this idea feel free to post it here

Well my first suggestion is that we are called Samurai of the CAA, due to our anime roots. I also think we would need a mod leader (our shogun), and some sort of restriction to membership, so not just anybody can join. The first that comes to mind is a certain length of membership, though it has it's obvious flaws, such as the fact there are newer members that are more qualified then older members, plus it would eliminate the initiator of this thread.
Another issue is co-ed or male only? Knights adhered to a code of chivalry, dedicated to the respect and protection of women, and I think that would be one of, if not the most important aspect of the Knights (or Samurai).
To tell you the truth though, I don't think such an organization is that important on an already Christian forum; I mean, if it were some secular forum, with a lot of content that was unacceptable, and we banded together against it, that would be one thing, but there's not a lot of that happening here.
Anyways, just my thoughts.

That is the duty of EVERY member. To have a specific group would not only cause elitism but redundancy and maybe even some McCarthy-ism. I seriously doubt the efficiency of such a structure.

The old Knights were co-ed and I rather doubt that would change. However, Ashley's post pretty much expressed my overall reservations on the subject.

Mine as well, though in a non-mod way.

And mine. This sounds like the CAA Shinsengumi, and much as we may love the Shinsengumi in
Peacemaker and stuff, I don't think we need them running around here.
