'Tried' to break my arm today

I was on my way to work this morning and just as I was halfway down the stairs, my feet decided it would be a good time to slip on the melted snow on the stairs. My legs went straight out in front of me and I slid down the stairs, managing to bang both elbows on the way down, the left one significantly harder than the right. My left elbow hurt enough to make me nauseous and I went to Student Health instead of work.
An hour and a half later I had a sling and pain meds, and thankfully no sign of a broken elbow. But I do have to wear a sling for 3 days, and go back in if I keep hurting after that. Thankfully, my main project is all done, my prof is letting me do computer work instead of a physical model, and I'm right handed. You should see the bruises. They're quite colorful.

Well its good that you did not break anything. Icey steps cal be killer. (Lives in Maine, thus he knows) Just be sure to tell everyone you meant to do it. "It was not a slip, but a new dance that will catch on!"

lol. I'm a notorious klutz, but everyone was really nice about it, and several people offered to help build my model (I had an architectural model to build, but my prof changed my requirements). My friend said I should tell people that I hurt it saving a baby in a stroller from a truck unable to stop in time on the slick roads. XD
The sad thing was that it was inside. Steps shouldn't be that slick inside. I'm going to go complain to the building's maintenance people tomorrow. The steps are really hazardous; since the building is so old, the treads are all worn off, and the snow that people track inside makes them really dangerous.

You should take a photo of your bruises =p

hehe. I took a couple quick pictures of the damage. The lighting is bad, and I'm pale, so they don't look as bad as they really are, but it gives you an idea.
:edit: I always forget and make a really wierd face when I take pictures of myself.

Omygosh you actually took pictures of them! I wasn't being
that serious XD
But anyway, those are some pretty bruises.

Bah, that's not a bruise. You should've seen the one I had on my leg last month measuring approximately 3in. x 6in. But, I'm glad you didn't break anything and I have no doubt that it hurt plenty bad! Elbows are mighty sensitive.... *thinks of funny bone* Oooo!

I try to break my arm as often as I can, thus making it stronger.

I wasn't very serious either MSP, but I had my camera on hand, so it wasn't a big deal. lol. I've had uglier bruises before, but these hurt pretty bad since they're right on the bone.
I'm such a klutz, I kind of figure that I might as well get a good bruise out of it. XD

Bwhahahaha
Sorry to hear that you're hurt, SA. I hope it all heals up soon, though, and I'm glad that you're being given some slack on your projects because of your injuries. Take care of yourself until then!
Wow. So snow can be dangerous... (has had encounters with snow exactly 3 times in my life. See! I actually counted them!)

That's awesome, you
should say that. XD
Anyways, joking aside, I'm glad your arm is ok! I'm also glad that it's not the arm you draw with; that'd be terrible for an art student (though I guess you would get a few days off from school, huh?
)! Anyways, glad everything's fine, and I hope it gets better soon!

Slipping on ice and snow is nothing compared to being head butted by a cow.You know you have real bruises when you get head butted by a cow.

Is this from prior experience?

Thanks for all the well-wishes and encouragement, everyone!
While I may not have to build a model for class, I do have to do some computer renderings and a potential 3D movie walkthrough of my building, so I'm not really getting off. T_T Ah well.
I really ought to get those spikes that you can snap onto your shoes.
mitsuki lover - while I haven't been head butted very violently, I have been stepped on and kicked multiple times by cows and horses - I'm a ranch kid after all. And yes, those do hurt like crazy, I take it you have been head butted?
