I am starting to wrestle for my school this year. It is my first year, and so far I like it alot. Does anyone have any tips about the sport that will help me do well with it? Thanks.

Oh good job! As I'm a girl I can't really give you any tips on the actual sport, but I've been a stat girl for a few years and I really enjoy the atmosphere at the tournaments. You start to feel like a little family. =]
What weight class are you going to wrestle?

Lift weights several times a week, do some cardio every day [I recommend jumping jacks to techno or anything with a driving beat ~ DDR is good for this too], and stretch every day as well. You will need the strength, stamina, and flexibility.

My cousin Mickey wrestled from Junior High through college(he went to Princeton)and his oldest son Matt won the NCAA in his weight divison this past year(Matt
wrestles for Penn.)Matt's brothers are also wrestlers.
So keep up the hard work and training and perhaps one day we will see you on
ESPN taking part in the NCAA championships as well.
