ok, I've probably mentioned this in multiple threads but...

My wife and I are Having a BABY!!! and I couldn't be happier!! anyone know a

RELIABLE!!! car seat manufacturer? I've heard about so many recals on car seats that I don't care how much money I have to spend on a car seat, I just want it to be the safest thing next to having an Angel in the car.

this applies to cribs, strollers, playpens, you know, all the stuff that the baby may reside in during the few moments that I have to let them out of my arms

WOW!! Congratulations! Wish I could be more help on the baby stuff but I'm a n00b at that too. XD;

As far as reliable stuff for the baby I'd check with reletives and see if they have any old stuff, because they made everything so much sturdier back then.

Hmm.. lets just say, as far as relatives go, I'm far and few between. I've got some, but I will probably be buying brand new stuff (like I said, I'm paranoid) although, I have one or two relatives who I could go to. but I really wish I knew some reliable BRANDS or a website. *sigh*
on the other hand, I can probably get plenty of clothes from family.

Yeah sorry I can't help you. The youngest in my family is 13 years old...So it's been to long for me to remember any brand names for anything.

Sorry, not sure of any brands of real safe brands of baby seats and things,
but just don't forget even with the fear of thigns being recalled, there is NOTHING God can't make safe^^ Although, I can see myself when I have a kid all freaking out about things^^

Congratulations! From everything I've seen, you're in for an exciting time, let me tell you. New parents are always frazzled... Well, I have no experience with child seats, but I do know a good place to look into them. Your local library probably has a subscription to Consumer Reports, and they review child seats and are generally considered very reliable as they do strenuous and independent tests of things. I'd look through Consumer Reports until you located their latest review of child seats and see what they have to say.

I'll be looking into that, thanks. I can't imagine ever really feeling secure about carseats I suppose. this baby means more to me than life itself and I'll do ANYTHING to protect them. I know it sounds a little corny but I don't know, I want my child to have a better childhood than I did (and I pray that their teenage years will be exponentially better than mine were) and I just want them to be safe.

I was going to say what Puritan said-- consumer reports. I think that'd definitely be the best way to go.

After you buy a car seat and stuff. You will need to talk about what kind of anime the kid needs to see!

Regarding car seats go to Toys R Us look at Greico and go to the near firestation because they can help install and advise on the type of carseat to use. Usually to get a car seat you go buy the weight of the baby but what I did I got one that they can gro into to. Try asking friends and co-workers who have small children too. I hope that this can help.

Congratulations and wow. I'm always amazed by the courage of people who chose to have and raise a baby. The weight of the responsibility of raising the child right, protecting him or her, encouraging him or her to meet and follow Christ is just crushing to me.

Happy for ya to have a Baby now here comes some advices change the diapers when it needed and feed the Baby when the Baby cries.

PS. Forumla milk is not the best for the Baby but the mother's own milk is the best.

I think that might be one of those myths that was supposed to stop SIDS, sudden infant death syndrome.

YAY!! today, the baby is halfway through pregnancy! 4 1/2 Months!!!! WOW time is going by so fast!!

Ok, today we went to the radiologist and had an ultra-sound and.......

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so psyched about this! I am going to be a dad around the end of April! I found a great Stroller and carseat at Babies R Us! along with the perfect rocking chair to rock them to sleep in!:) . oh yea. and when we were watching the ultra-sound, the baby gave us a big "thumbs up" (yea I know she was probably getting ready to suck her thumb but it looked like a thumbs up to me)

COOOOOOL!!!! IT'S A GIRL!!!!

Again I say, congrats! By the looks of things the kid is already going to be daddy's little girl!

Be sure to introduce her to anime at an early age--might I recommend playing "Cruel Angel Thesis" (Evangelion Theme Song) while she's in the womb?
