Question for mods: art submission call

There seem to be some aspiring artists around here, and frankly I'm becoming fed up with the art department I've currently contracted to illustrate the covers of my novel. Ideally, I would prefer to contract someone based on individual talent (i.e. not an art department where talent moves in and out), and based on whether the someone can sell me on being able to produce art I want to have representing my product.

My questions are:

1.) Does CAA have a policy on art submission calls for reimbursed useage outside CAA (ultimately)?

2.) If so, where exactly would I go on the site to promote and host this?

Note: I am a registered tax-paying business in the state of TN, and would be contracting someone (or more than one artist) to create material for which they would be reimbursed on a royalty basis (per unit sold). All expenses are covered by me (well, other than internet connections and junk to get the art to me. {g}) Part of the point to doing this publicly would be as de facto copyright protection for submitting artists.

Recommendations? Prohibitions?

(Generally, I think, requests for such things are made here, because I have seen requests for book covers there. You could probably get a mod to move it there.)

(I'm part of a two-person art team called Iris Faerie. At the moment I don't have any [high-quality] scans of any of our more recent works, becuase my scanner isn't working properly, but if you want examples of our work (and don't mind low-quality for now), I can get you some now, or if you want more high-quality you'd need to wait maybe a week at most for me to get it to properly work.)

(But for now, here's some of the lower-quality recent and a few high-quality semi-recent examples: )

Thanks for the info! Actually, it wouldn't do much good for this thread _itself_ to be moved--mainly I just wanted to know how legal it was to announce a work-for-hire opportunity on CAA, as well as to what extent they could host the submission process. Thus, questions for the mods. (Plus where they would prefer I do it, if it's okay--and that forum certainly looks like the right place! So that's a good start.)

I'll look at your samples presently. Thanks!

Hey Jason Pratt. Well, let me start by saying that you're exactly right-- there are many very talented artist here at CAA who I'm sure could provide you with some fantastic art. In answer to your specific question, the answer is-- I don't know. :P We haven't had too many calls for this kind of thing. I will, however, bring this thread to attention of the other moderators, and we'll see what they think.

I know this answer is sad, but I just wanted you to know that your question is not being ignored. I'll bring you official word as quickly as we decide on a proper venue for your request. Thanks for your patience!

{bow!} It's certainly much better than '{spit!} No way!'

Oh, and I'm entirely willing to answer questions, of course.

Mods still considering it? (Just a topical reminder. :) I don't want to do something without mod approval.)
