Question about eye problems

I couldn't think of anywhere else to put this thread. >.>;;
Now, this is totally unrelated to the eye problem I had about a month ago, if any of you even remember that. This has been a problem for almost a year.
Anyway, whenever I cry, the tears burn. And I mean they BURN. It's like someone poured Tabasco sauce on my eyes. I googled burning tears and didn't get anything but a bunch of emo websites, and even on medical sites I got results for things that weren't pleasant.
I know it's not conjunctivitis, I know it's not dry eye (because that's when you don't produce tears), so I'm not sure what it is, and I can't find anything online that even remotely suggests what is causing this. Like I said, this started about a year ago, before then, whenever I cried it never burned.
So...I'm just wondering if anyone here with a small bit of medical knowledge (or better googling skills) could help.

I don’t know what it is.
But I think you should see a doctor right away.
If your eyes are burning it means something is burning them.
And if they continue to be burned the outcome can’t be good.
Now this is just a guess but it might be some kind of infection or irritation of the tear-duct.
I used to get bladder infections all the time. And when I had one it burned very very badly when I peed.
So maybe it’s the same when your tear-ducts try to produce tears. It just irritates the infection even more and makes your feel a burning sensation.
Edit: I will be parying that your eyes feel better soon.

Actually, the condition of "dry eye" can exist even when you do produce tears -- it is just that your ducts are not working properly to establish a consistent level of eye moisture.
Since it is both eyes that are hurting, I'm inclined to think dry eye or a condition that is causing your ducts not to produce the right quality/quantity of tears may be at fault. (If it were only one eye, I'd be betting on a corneal injury.)
In any event, a very good idea to see an opthamologist right away.

I agree with ClosetOtaku. I've experienced it before, and during my last eye doctor appointment, I brought up the subject, and she said it's due to dry eyes.

kae, perhaps drinking more water might help things, i know sometimes when my eyes tear up it causes my eyes to burn, i just chock it up to too much salt in my tears (but hey, that's just my weird logic)
hope your eyes get to feeling better soon

I've had it, too, but it is usually attributable to wearing mascara and crying and I assume that you don't wear mascara . . . .

Everyone's given pretty good advice, including the possiblity of dehydration. Here's a few other links for you to check out before &/or after visiting the eye dr.
My family has been through 20 something eye surgeries, and we've learned quite a bit about eyes health. Hopefully these links will help in your research.
Their Stye eyedrop really helped my dad who's been fight it that periodically last few months.

But yesterday, it wasn't enough so he had my mom make an eye wash from Eyebright. And that cleared it up for him.

Haha...a bunch of emo sites... XDD
I've never heard of this, but I'm curious now. If you get an official diagnosis, be sure to let us know!

I totally cracked up
Sounds bad. My eyes only burn when I take a contact lens off and put it straight back.. But it only hurts for a while. You should really see a doctor. I hope the disease (or whatever it is) goes away soon.
