Ahh, high school. Back when I could get As for simply doing homework, and half the classes in the day required little more than showing up. Those were the days. Wait, you wanted hate. Errr, hard to give that now, looking back at it High School was actually pretty fun. I got weekends, holidays, evenings, and summer to myself, and half the class projects were meant to be fun with the other half largely makework or pointless rather than all of them meant to weed out people to make the school more prestigous.

Homeschoolers have no fear of highschool...so they say...I must have been an odd one...
I had no life during highschool, and all others my age ignored me (being public schoolers, they thought I was a...never mind). I am going to college this fall. I have high hopes for it.

My advice? Just do it, get it over with! Don't...like...let your schoolwork suffer, but just remember that it'll pass by quicker than you think.

That was...random...but I had to get it out...

Goodness, things can't have changed all that much in five years, I hope. Things may not always seem fair, but unfortunately the group punishment regime is nothing new, and neither are the regulations and rules. Stick with it, you've only had one day so far, you'll get used to it and probably grow to enjoy it.

Yeah, teachers were "evil" back when I was a kid too.

Then I realized they're just regular people like us working at a job they probably don't like to put food on the table. They're not evil, they're just trying to make a living, and trying to teach you things that are useful so you don't end up flipping burgers at McDonald's for thirty years.

Trust me, you'll look back too and realize it isn't that bad.

Yeah, that whole space-time curve of relativity is kind of a bummer sometimes - it makes it so when you go fast time goes slower. No really, what are you trying to say?

Hey Ditalover - High school can be no fun at times. I used to get picked on a lot because of my relatively small size back then. But after a while things get better and you may even start to enjoy high school life, then miss it after you leave.

High School sucks. Evil Math Teachers who want to burn your books. Teachers who rush through the lesson and you end up failing or just passing. Male Class Mates who you just want to shoot cause they refuse to grow up. Female Class Mates you just want to set on fire because they are preps or wanna-be preps. School mates dieing at almost every two seasons. Hollow promises. Plastic lunchs. Little freshman clogging the hall ways who and thinking they're better than everyone because they're in High School. Ugh I hate it! I can honestly say I will be glad to get out of there and into college or work.

I'm not in high school YET, but my "high school" has the junoir high mixed in with the high schoolers; it's 7th-12th grade(I'm in 8th). So far, it's awesome! All my teachers are pretty cool, some of them are pretty strict though, and it DOES get very stressful sometimes... I can't wait until next year, though, I'm actually looking forward to high school!!! =O WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!??!?

LOL I was homeschooled for 6 years; last year was my first year back in the public school system, so I'm still kinda getting used to things. Therefore, I don't know how much you can rely on my opinion. XD;

Is highschool that bad? xD; I mean, personally I think it's pretty much exactly like middle school. n_n; There're some small differences, but for the most part... D:

So I don't really hate highschool... xD; Except for the usual things I'd rather do without because of my laziness. :D;

i agree with bap. its not a whole lot worse, and after the freshman year, it just gets better. sure there are people you wont like, but theres people like that no matter where ya go. as for the classes, theres not a whole lot you can do, so its best just to make the best of it and enjoy the last years that you can just mooch off of your parents. after that comes the time when you have to go out and get a job... so you have all kinds of fun stuff to look forward to! XD

Well, this is my senior year in high school, and I've loved my past three years. Sure, I had my "Charlie Brown" days, and I had teachers that I really, really didn't like, but the good has always far outweighed the bad for me. In fact, last year I didn't really want summer to start. XD I've had a really good experience with my high school, and I think a lot of anyone's experience with high school depends on what they expect from it. I mean, if you go into high school thinking, "Man, this is going to suck, I hate school, and everyone hates me," then I doubt you're going to have a good experience. But if you take a positive attitude into the whole thing, it's far more likely that you'll have a good experience. Just keep your chin up, it's really not all that bad. :thumb:

Now YOU took the words out of MY mouth.:forehead: Couldn't have said it better myself. God will see you through these four years. Just keep the faith and keep praying.

Oh, and when the teacher says that an assignment is due that next day--SHE MEANS IT!

High School consisted of one year and four months of my life in which I had no social contact and worked via the internet non-stop... However, the "no social contact" was a good thing and I never regret it... my suggestion... drop out and go to college... oh wait no that will get me yelled at... especially if your mother finds out... Well at least you can REMEMBER that someone told you that colleges (especially ones NOT known for their part atmospheres) tend to be much more mature and the people treat you nicer... I love college... I want to stay in school forever! :P

I didn't really like High School, but I wish I know (at the time) how really insignificant things were. My whole world view was tied up in how I acted, wore and what I thought people thought of me. After I got to college, I found out how to be real and wound up becomming somewhat popular. It was kinda weird, honestly. I was pretty much the "nerdiest kid" in High School.

Now, though, I think it was good for me. I do wish I'd made better study habits, though. I started a grad school after being out of college for too long. It's taken 6 months to learn good study habits again.

I know it seems like it sucks now, but it can get better later. It's pretty much whatever you make out of it, though.

You know, last year was my first year of High School. I thought it went pretty well, although homework seemed a bit overwhelming compared to the middle school homework. Socially everything was great.

This year I'm starting my Sophmore year and I'm also moving so I'm really sad and nervous... the friends I have now took me a while to get, since I came from a different country to start 5th grade. It's not like they are childhood friends and now I'm going to start all over again :waah!:

1.when I finally got lunch I had to go RIGHT THEN
2.we have no breaks and lunch is only 30 mins.
3.i dont have time to go across the school to get to the next class
4.since they conveniently took away break when i started we wait in our last class for 30 extra mins so they can stay ON TIME. :bang:

No, teachers were never evil to me at all. I haven't a clue what you people are talking about. But yeah, kae got it]1.when I finally got lunch I had to go RIGHT THEN

Yeah. That's pretty much high school. Oh, and by the way, lunch has always been 30 minutes for me in my entire school career. I can't imagine it being longer.

Also, try running to your locker, which is on one side of the school, and then running not only to the other side, but also a good 100-150 feet outside the school, frantically trying to find the right trailer in which your class is taking place, all in a whopping 7 minutes.

It always could be worse. :eyeroll:

Sorry, I'm a senior now; it's in my blood to terrorize freshmeat, I mean, freshmen. XD

High school only seems rough because you've lived an extremely easy life up to that point. After high school, if you go into college, you'll think that college is hard and high school was easy. When you get into the real world, and missing an assignment affects the food on your table - or even whether or not you have a table - you'll realize even how easy college was.

So, wait till you hit the real world, kid. Wait till you hit the real world.

I've just finished high school in June, so I'm off to university in September. You're going to meet a lot of awesome people in high school, both teachers and friends. On the other hand, you're also going to meet a lot of not so awesome people. You're going to miss the awesome people at the end of your four years and you're going to learn how to coexist peacefully with the not so awesome people.

Four years feels really fast at the other end.

Actually, I liked each progressive phase of school better. The kids grew up and stopped being quite so stupid-either that or I grew up, gained confidence, and learned how to deal with them. Or maybe both.

College rocks my socks, but high school had its good and bad points too. When you get down to it, it's all just life, and the seasons thereof. (Which do NOT always neccessarily coincide with school phases, etc.) I'm not really a believer in the whole 'real world vs. not-real world' myth. It's all one continuous story.

But I digress. Maybe high school was just fun for me because I was a band geek. I know my two best friends(at the time) hated it.
