Parents

I suddenly decided to write my parents a note tonight, thanking them for giving me many good things in life.

I remember how my mum used to work for only 4 dollars an hour, so that she could contribute to the living expenses.

I also remember how my dad used to walk around to the different shops and find the cheapest items because of our tight budget.

My parents are not perfect and I know what their flaws are, but I believe they've done the best they can given our circumstances. They worked in rather uncomfortable conditions (factory work) so I can be fed and brought up.

I just suddenly wanted to write this as well.

So many people like to complain about their parents or their childhood.

You did a wonderful thing by writing this UM.

We do often take our parents for granted. I remember when I fell away from God for a few years and was horrible to my parents. They remained faithful and their love was instrumental in bringing me back to the Lord. They also went through a few hardships early on as well. Thank God for parents!

carneman and White Raven - I think I am able to do this because Christ has shown me how good my parents are to me, how much they love me, even when I behave in unlovable ways. So I want to thank Him as well.

Syreth - yeah, I used to argue with my parents very often as well. Now, even if I don't agree with them, I just try to tell them my perspective without shouting. I find that even if we cannot agree, at least they can see that I am not disagreeing because I am being spiteful, but because I genuinely think in a different way.
