Deviant Art Vs. SheezyArt Which is the best?
PostPosted: Mon Jul 24, 2006 1:25 am

So I just joined Sheezyart recently, and while I think it has a lot of really cool features, I can't decide which I like better, Sheezy art or Deviant Art.
I like all the cool things you can do with SA but DA seems sorta more sophisticated...
Soo..your opinions?
and if you guys have a DA or SA account you can share them here too!! i want to see if I can find as many members from CAA as i can!
I am ChristianKitsune for both! (follow links in my siggy)
and if this is considered "Advertising" I am sorry..^^; I am not trying to...

While I disagree with aspects of both sites, I'd definitely take dA over sA, simply because people tend to conduct themselves in a more sophisticated and mature fashion on dA.

Sheezy art has had massive problems with downtime and content control in the past. I hope these are in the past, but for now, Deviantart has presented a more stable and better moderated enviroment, so I prefer it. I also dislike Sheezy's page layout and appearance, and have heard horror stories about the people on the site being extremely rude to artists.

You should have had a "neither" option on this poll. XD
dA is too...elite and a little overcomplicated for me. I don't like the attitudes of people on there.
SA was pretty darn cool for a while, then the downtime sent most of the better members to dA, never to look back. And SA is left with a bunch of jerkwads and raving yaoi fangirls. Not to mention the fact that you couldn't get into the site half the time. It was a great idea, poorly executed.
My SA gallery is
http://shiroihikari.sheezyart.com, but I haven't updated in ages.

DA, definitely. At first, I left DA because I didn't want to have do deal with the nude art that was sometimes on display (especially not with my parents walking through the living room, ahaha), and so I thought Sheezy would be a good choice. Didn't really like it much, though. The layout was too similar to a blog, rather than a gallery, and it was just too...I dunno, myspace-y? Either way, in the end I found that DA was much easier to navigate, much more simple in uploads, etc., and just better all around. I didn't really stick around Sheezy long enough to have a particularly bad experiece with any members, so that's probably a good thing. XD
Either way, my SA account is luckydenvermint, and my DA is Rurouni-Kaoru.

lol I see...^^; I think I agree that DA is best...
but since it is an "Art" site there are a lot of people who are less conservative with their art...
...unfortunately...^^;

DA, at least you don't get some of the garish layouts.
Yep, desaturated green for me.

Deviant Art, because I am a deviant. I am not a sheezy.

I like using SA. It's simpler. DA is way to complicated to get a peice of art up and trhey took down an anime wallpaper catagory. SA has some of the rudeness members and stay clear of the forums.
At any rate, here's my gallery:
http://shao.feng.li.sheezyart.com/
http://shao-feng-li.deviantart.com/ (needs to be updated terribly!)
Maybe I'll get back into DA, otherwise I have nowhere to showcase anything.

Well, Right now I prefer Sheezyart because I've had problems posting my wallpapers on DA, just because they don't allow them unless they are drawn by you. They took down all of mine, and really didn't tell me why until I actually dug through the FAQ section to find out. I'm not really happy with DA, so I'm going with sheezy.

Actually its copyright nazis. It would seem they prefer walls be original art, since they like to take copywrite at least somewhat seriously (as in taking another pice of art such as a drawing or photo and altering it with out permission) and enforce that kind of thing fairly harshly. They dont reinforce charachter ownership as much, but the actual images are a big deal.

I personally prefer DA, as much as it's a huge intimidating community that's easy to get lost and ignored in O_o
On second thought, I vote Elfwood! *and it's stoopid two week waiting times while uploads go through*

Nope Shao-sama e_e They took down all of my walls that I did, which were about 15 at the time, sending me notes to " contact FAQ " to see why e.e]http://namiki.sheezyart.com/[/url]
That's my sheezy name if anyone is interested ._. I've got a couple of new walls up. What got me so mad, is it was the only site I knew of to host my walls, and I don't make them for personal pleasure o.o; I do it so people can have them and...have something pretty to look at. So ~ Enjoy if anyone is interested u.u;

There's been a big stink over the administration, noteably $spyed. He recently banned a forum regular and former staff member for seemingly no reason.

I have a dA that I don't update much as it is. I'm probably not going to get another art account to get ignored in...~.~;
But in any case, my dA is
RubyJewelStone as well.
Me is a deviant. Since that's what I heard of firstest.

I'm pretty contented with DA and have no reason to use an alternate service.
It's frustrating for wallpaper creators but at the same time, I can understand why such a strict policy has been enforced.

I'm a deviant as well:

Haven't updated in a while, because I'm just too busy... I'll probably do a mass update of stuff in less than a month, once I'm back at college and have an internet connection for my laptop.
I haven't even visited sheezy art... I barely have enough time for my dA, let alone another gallery, lol.

Elfwood! *runs and ducks from the flying tomatoes*
Only because I have an account there. I also have one on Epilogue, but they're really snobby about what they allow to be posted. On the other hand, you pretty much only find finished, high-quality art there.

DA for me! I've seen some rude remarks on Sheezy and DA is much nicer.

I used dA until recently.
The elitist owners who forced the founders out of power decided that one of my things was a copyright violation, when it actually wasn't. They're not going to have my presence there any longer, except to comment on other art.
