This is really scary. On the SAME day that I went to see X-men 3 with my family this happened in a theatre that we almost went to:

My mom actually asked me if I wanted to go to that one or another one... I chose the other one... THANK GOD!

Alot of people were at that theatre, and even if you went you just might have survived, and though it's good you're still in the land of the living, it is sad what happened to the other man, but let us hope perpetual light shines upon him as the Requiem has it.

Man...What a sad story! I feel really bad for the family, but I'm glad you chose not to go to that theater! That really must have been a God thing! I find it interesting that the gunman turned himself in directly afterward, though...I wonder why he wanted to shoot someone (as it said in the article)? Well, I'll definitely be praying for the family, but in the meantime, we should all be thankful for God's protection over our lives. And who knows, He may just do something in the life of the woman who was married to the man who got shot.

I think that they said on the TV news that he had been thinking about killing someone for 6 months... He wanted to kill someone just for the sake of killing someone... or something like that... it's weird.

Guns aren't allowed in Austrailia?

I don't understand how someone would want to randomly kill another person... I mean, for no reason other than the fact that he had been wanting to kill someone. It's just appauling that someone's value of human life can become so depreciated. Thank God you are safe!
#5. We must get rid of guns because a deranged lunatic may go on a shooting
spree at any time and anyone who would own a gun out of fear of such a
lunatic is paranoid.
#24. Guns cause violence, which is why there are so many mass killings at
gun shows.
I don't post very often, but isn't discussing controversial issues frowned upon.
I feel badly for the guy who died.
I hope his murderer gets what's coming to him...

ChristianRonin, guns aren't allowed here. But farmers have permits to shoot kangaroos, feral animals etc.

But you would have to admit... it would be a bit safer if guns were banned in the US.
The only problem such a banning would present is it would be harder to protect yourself in a zombie outbreak... but we haven't had one of those yet.

Man, that's sad...you were blessed, though.
What's really sad too is the wife (of course) blames God...

WHOA! That's scary, LQ. Thank God you chose the other theatre. Very strange article. Why in the world would someone freak out and commit a murder over traffic tickets? I'll keep the family of the victim in my prayers...

Why in the world would someone freak out and commit a murder over traffic tickets?
Because they're mentally ill. Very, very mentally ill.

Glad you weren't hurt, Linksquest.

I wouldn't. Nor would many here on this very forum. I also don't think we should be discussing this clearly political topic here. I'd love to debate the finer points of gun control with you. Perhaps we can start a PM discussion.

Yeah, but if guns were banned from the US, swords would be back in style.
People these days always have a backup plan.
Back on topic, I'm gald you weren't hurt Linksquest. And so is Zelda!

Like many of you have already said... it did feel like a God thing afterward... Sort of like the people on 9/11 that for some reason or another didn't go to the towers... It's a really weird feeling knowing that we could have been there.

Hmm... I didn't realize this was a controversial topic at all.

I'm glad that you are safe.
I will also pray that the man's wife will somehow see that God is in control and that he still loves her.

From the Article:
Yesterday, as friends tried to comfort her, Rona Schrum said, "I will probably never understand why God has chosen to do that to me."
Am I the only one saddened that people blame God for things like this?
