A columnist will be selected for each of the following categories:

MUSIC (J-POP, J-ROCK, K-POP, anime soundtracks, videogame soundtracks)

Feature writers will be selected for each of the following categories:

If you are interested in contributing, please e-mail writers@tokyopop.com with brief proposals and a writing sample by June 19, 2006. If chosen, writer will be contacted to work out a writing schedule and will receive monetary compensation for such work. Pieces should be written with journalistic integrity and TOKYOPOP style.

or 18 years or older! ^_^v

I am replying to this email RIGHT now...but what do they mean by sample writings? does it have to anime writings? Or just writing in general? (like a story for a news paper)

Just writing in general if you don't have anything related to the topics they described. I can only imagine that a well-written article on a topic they've listed will be received more favorably than an article on some other topic, however.

Is that the sum total of the e-mail? Do you have a link or anything? I'm interested in this in general and I'm glad that you posted it, but I don't want to move until I have more information.

I just applied too! (took me all day to write my samples) Wish ash and I luck! ^_^v

It would be awesome if people from CAA got the jobs!!

My feature sample was only 450 words...but my review sample was 530...I hope that won't be a problem.... but I did real reasearch for my feature...

I wonder when we will find out...

UC, you could always check tokyopop.com; they might have it posted somewhere.

I do hope that this is one of those, "we'll let you know either way" things and not "let's leave all the rejects hanging on their hopes and dreams for days on end until their heart dies an agonizing death of starvation" deals

Hmm, they need a Video Game writer? I'll send one in soon then. -I sure am getting tired of just writing about Nintendo games (been writing for a Nintendo fansite).

Thanks for the info, Kev. :thumb:

I just wondered if there was any more. It lacks details, so I wondered.

Good idea, but I didn't find anything. Perhaps they won't be flooded by responses...

EDIT: Nevermind - http://messageboard.tokyopop.com/forums/showthread.php?p=89737

Knowing Tokyopop, I'll give you a good bet it will be the latter.
