How do you Cook your Ramen?

If any of you make Ramen at home (I mean.. cook it... not make the noodles XD) what do you do to when cooking it?
I always saute onions and garlic in butter and then add the water. I then add the noodles and the flavor pack (if present). I will then add one egg!
It's sooo awesome!
What do you all do?

o.o people add stuff to ramen? i must try that!
I'd never really had ramen before college. I mean, i'm sure i'd tried it at some point, but i didn't remember having tried it. so yeah. and i'm actually a little allergic to the MSG in it so i usually get kinda sick afterwards =/ but hmm...i just cook mine according to the package. usually using less of the flavor packet than they say b/c it's so salty.

I don't. I just eat the noodles like chips or crackers.

Some times I put meat (pork or cube-steak), kinda reminds me of the real thing, other then just the broth and noodles.
I also like to use the noodles for stirfry now and then. Kinda like a Yaki soba... But with Ramen. ^_^

That's what I do, except I cook it on the stove.

^O^ ME TOO! Quite often I put an egg and some sliced mushrooms in while the ramen is cooking, boil most of the water away, and forgo the flavor packet and add oyster sauce or soy sauce ontop instead.

*feels so boring* lol
I just heat up the water on the stove then pour the water on the noodles in a bowl, and pour on the seasoning.

I use as little water as possible so the broth is extremely concentrated and the noodles aren't mushy.
If you think that's nasty, you're still eating all that seasoning if you add more water, it's just dilute that way.

Ok, it's very simple. I put water in a cup. I warm the water up from the microwave for 3 minutes. Then I pour it in the ramen. I let it sit for 3 minutes. Then I eat it.

I boil the dry noodles in the microwave in a lot of water for a few minutes. Then, once the noodles are soft enough to separate with a fork, I let them cook for about one minute. Then, I strain the water off the noodles leaving JUUUUUSSSSSSSTTTTTT enough for a nice broth. Then I empty the packet, stir it up, then pour the noodles in a bowl! The broth is the best, especially if you do the noodles right!

wow...thats so interesting the way you guys do it. My aunt puts veggies and stuff in hers, and they break up the noodles and stuff. Personally I only eat half the ramen packet at a time, so I break the clump, cook what I want on the stove, with half the flavor packet then add some of our own boyon cubes...(just a corner) for alittle extra flavor, I like mine soupy but with alot of flavor.
Mushy Noodles are gross...they have like a slimey....feel to em. EW!

How do you guys add eggs? Wouldn't that be like scrambled eggs and Ramen?

Like Kkun, both Zilch and I eat ours ... raw, I guess. Crunchy goodness!

RAW RAMEN BRICK GOODNESS! I either eat it raw with a bit of seasoning, or cook it with minimal water and some seasoning for a concentrated flavor.

*comes back from renal physiology section of Mam Phys*
Actually, if you drink concentrated salt solution, your blood pressure will rise *duh*. So it is healthier to make a broth that is 300 mOsM.

Actually, the egg stays quite solid, at least the yolk does. It's also important to put in the egg at hottest temperature.
I do it the regular way which is by the directions. BUT, once at summer camp, totally lacking a stove and being pretty hungry, my roommates and I got cups of ramen from another camper. Then we went to the sink, put it on as hot as possible, and put water in. :U We let it sit, and ate it with assorted pencils and pens.
Let me tell you now, it doesn't really work, unless you like crunchy ramen.

I just heat the noodles and that's all, but I don't eat Ramen except as a last resort.

I put some roast beef slices, like 5 sliced mushrooms, and some onions.
It was amazingly good

Half the starting water, at least. Put another soup packet in if possible after that, if there's a spare one lying around. Nothing else please.

I just use 2 packets of ramen, boil the water and place in, once the water starts boiling with the noodles in... i use both packets and let the broth cook into the noodles and from here you have 2 choices:
1) Eat when the noodles are soft enough and have the broth.
2) Slowly cook all of the broth until its gone and then eat the noodles.
Either way, good eating.

I get a packet of Ramen and put it in a Pampered Chef Micro Cooker with some water and put it in the microwave for 4 minutes. Then I take it out, and let the noodles get to the perfect texture and thickness. Next, I drain out most of the water, and put in the seasoning mix, salt, fresh pepper, and sometimes other herbs.
