Do we build castles in the sky?



A friend asked me this yesterday, but I have yet to think of an answer.

Come to think of it, I really don't even understand the question!


So, I give it to you, my fellow CAAers, in hopes that you can figure out/guess what it really means! I have to figure this out in a couple of days, so quickly now! Chop Chop!

I just watch them personally. Miyazaki films ...

It's not a reference to Miyazaki-sensei's films....It's a genuine question. Perhaps of a wierd bent, but a question none the less.

Humans are by nature dreamers, and dreamers by nature build castles in the sky. We desire to go where we have never been and do what has never been done, thus we build castles in the sky to fulfill that desire.

Because if you build your castles in the swamp, they'll sink.

Then when you build a second castle in the swamp, that one sinks too. Then the third one burns down, falls over, and THEN sinks into the swamp.

One of you actually got the meaning of the question and the answer!


I'm not going to say who, but really.....nice.

We build Castles in the Sky becuase we have High Dreams...

Then we build a fourth castle in the swamp, and the fourth one... the fourth one stayed up! And that's what we're gonna get, the strongest castle in these islands.

Please don't derail the thread, Puritan. Go attack a Pacifican freight liner or something.

I think I either wrote about this before in a poem, or that I heard this question before as well... weird.

Anyway. Here is what I have to say. We build castles in the sky because we create a stronghold for our lofty dreams up above where the world can touch or harm them. We want to fly to that place away from the problems of the Earth down below. We build our castles in the sky because we hope we can go there someday... and to get their we know we'll have to grow wings.

Or use our private jets.

We build castles in the sky because the castles on the ground aren't enough. It's like C.S. lewis said ~ if we have a desire which this world cannot fulfill, we were meant for another world.
