My great nephew is here!
So that means, I’m a great aunt!
Wow seems so odd for me to be a great anything at 22.
He was born yesterday.
His name is Johnathan Wayne McClintock.
I hope the mods don’t mind that I made a thread about him.
I think he’s a cute little bugger.
Here is a picture of him.
I put more pictures of him on my blog if you want to take a look.
If you want to say congratulations to his parents. Just lest me know in your post, and I will forward your message.
Thanks, Tammi.

My roommate is 19 years younger than his youngest sibling, and he's got 5 of them ... it's not impossible. =p

Well lets see.
I have two brothers and three sisters. All of them are older then me. My oldest brother KC who was 20 when I was born. Had a daughter one year before I was born.
So she is my oldest niece. Ok you got that?
Now my niece has had a baby at 23, and I’m 22.
Now is that as clear as mud?

Y'know, at this rate you'll probably eventually end up a great-great-great aunt or something O.O
So cute ^^

Yeah, I could be a great-great-great aunt and only be in my 60s

No I don't think they have seen more then one of his movies.
I think it was a bad idea to name him after John Wayne.
Mostly because everyone will expect him to be tough, (like John Wayne).
And if the kid turns out to be kinda soft.
It would be like a big joke.

I was wondering about that. Strange. Hopefully your great-nephew will avoid problems from his name - teasing, overly ambitious expectations. That's quite a name, named after not only a very famous actor but to also have a last name that is the same as one of his most well known movie characters.
*le sigh*

You sound as though you're talking from experience ^_~
Well, on the bright side, Wayne is the middle name. I have a friend whose middle name is 'Elizabeth' and her last name is 'Taylor'. It hasn't really cropped up too much in her day to day life. I tend to forget about it almost constantly, until the topic of middle names comes up and I end up blurting 'Hey! That's like Elizabeth Taylor!'
And then I realize at that this is the sixth or seventh time that I've had that moment of dawning ^^;
Hehe, you should give your Great-nephew some kind of cowboy themed nickname ^.^

You'll have to share more baby pictures as you get them.
Off topic: .... ^^;;;
Other than people trying to make puns out of my name (
), I have no personal experience with name issues. Though I have known a 'Candy Sweet' whose parents named her that on purpose, and another little girl whose middle name was specifically chosen to sound like 'do re mi' when said with her last name.
It's just a personal soapbox of mine, one that wishes people would put a little more thought into helping their children avoid teasing. Unique names are cool, but there is a line at which they become harrassment fodder. *steps down and kicks soapbox away before further off-topic ranting ensues*

When I have kids I will try to give them names, that can’t be made fun of easily.
Of course, just about any name, can be made fun of, some how.
Hehe, I have more pictures!
Here is the best one.
I wish I could see him for real. And hold him!
But he is all the way in KS and I'm in PA.

Actually my dad was 17 years younger than his oldest brother.I suppose your parents must have been in their 40s when you were born.Though it must be nice, for your niece to have such a youngish aunt!

You’re right.
My Mom was 43 when I was born.
It was almost unheard of back then to have a baby at that age.
But now women are doing it all the time.
Everyone said it was a miracle that my mom lived through having me.
But my mom really wanted another baby. So she prayed for one, and here I am.

If you research colonial days girls were being married at around 15 and having babies from the time they got married to the time they were into their 30s.Of course most of those had to replace the ones that died young.
At least the kid wasn't named something really weird like Moon Boy!
