ok, so way back when i was in elementary school i took guitar lessons, but when i got into middle school i had to quit to keep my commitment to concert band, in which i played the trumpet, so now, years later, i feel the Lord calling me back to learning the guitar, can anyone recommend a guitar beginner book or perhaps a song book that has anime or game music in it?
something with the songs from cowboy bebop would be nice, but just so long as it's something i'm likely to have heard would be nice

"A Modern Method for Guitar" is a good one for just general learning. Once you get used to playing, you might try to figure the stuff out by ear. Not only will you save a few bucks, but it's good for ear training. This thread probably belongs in "Jam Session" though.

Ha ha, switch the trumpet for a tenor saxophone and the same thing happened with me (still is really).
I find that the K.I.S.S [Keep It Simple Stupid] Guitar for Beginers is a good book, although having said that I'm not sure if the publisher DK operates in the States or not.

Buy yourself the most comprehensive chord book you can afford ~ it will help you.

Then go to animechords.com and GET TO IT. ^_^

If you want some video game stuff, head to videogamejam.com. They'll have just about everything you'll need, although a lot of it is pretty challenging, as a forewarning.
