Crowds - scary or inviting?

Do you like being among crowds of people? Whenever I go to a mall or even to busy conventions, I usually despise the crowded environment for obvious reasons - pushy people, noisy conversations, and sometimes the daze that comes with people coming and going.
Though I know a few people who are used to it, or wouldn't make a big deal unlike myself. My inclination for the most part would be to find a place where there are fewer than thirty people, whereas my friends wouldn't mind if there were 30x more than that!

It all depends for me. I like crowds when I'm moshing, but not when I'm shopping. If we'rea ll doing the same thing, it's pretty sweet, but when I'm just trying to get to EB, it gets a touch annoying when everyone else is running toward JCPenny the exact opposite way, you know what I mean?

I really dislike crowds. Unusually, I dislike them even more if the crowd is made up of people I'm vaguely acquainted with. Situations with lots of people that I don't know REALLY well just sort of leave me drained.

Thou hast summed it up pretty well

I DETEST of crowds. with a passion I hate them. I don't even like loud music. I can't think of a single teen who would pass up a chance to mosh or go to a concert of their favorite band. Me, I'm just like "ummm. . no. Give me the CD and i'm fine"
I really don't like crowds of more then about a dozen or so people.

I don't mind crowds because I just like to watch them and listen to them for some odd reason. But I don't like it when a crowd is confined to a small space or when a crowd makes waiting in line really long.

Like most of the other people have said, it depends on what kinda crowds. xD;
I.. like crowds at anime conventions. 'Cause it's like, "These are MY kinda people! 8D"
But most of the time I get freaked and nervous if it's anywhere where I can't be nerdy/dorkish/me being stupid. u_u;
Like.. school. xD *Gets nervous in gym class* And that's not even a crowd! xD

I literally withdrawl from the crowds. In school I rush at a fast walk to locker to class and have one heck of a time trying to avoid people. From what I've experienced people group together and stay there untill they have to leave and don't leave you room to get by with out shoving and yelling. Crowded buildings like malls and stores I avoid it when I can, and Wally World is the worst. Opps vered of track ^^; Anyway to answer: Yeah I do avoid crowds because it makes me feel tapped and then I'm ready to yell at the nearest person and knocking them off their feet.

I'm not a crowd person in most cases. But like most everyone else, it really depends on what my status is whilst I am in the said crowd.

I guess to sort of narrow down the definition of crowds, I was aiming more towards what Kokoro Daisuke mentioned as far as being around people you are vaguely familiar with (a good example of this would be a busy city with masses of people "stuck" together).
When I am with my friends, it's usually more inviting since I am not a total stranger in the environment.

I don't like crowds. They don't make me nervous (only sometimes), but mostly annoyed.
However, it's kind of fun in a Frogger-type way.

I like large clouds. Its easier to pick pockets. Just kidding.
I'm not to fond of big crowds. I don't see how anyone can be!

Because. I love being smushed between a thousand people and smelling all of that B.O.
And you don't? Goodness.

Crowds are okay as long as I don't have to mingle with them. Making smalltalk with people I don't know very well/at all is not pleasant.

I don't mind being in a large crowd, I am somewhat used to it.
The exception would be if most of the crowd are hostile to me, or I believe they will be inclined to be hostile to me, like that time on New Year's Eve some years ago when I was with my friend inside a train and we were surrounded by restless drunks.

i LOOOVE crowds on the day after thanksgiving shopping. you can watch everyone shove each other out of the way to try and get that free floppy disk sale....
the reason i go shopping in crowds is not as much to pick up good deals, as it is to watch people (sometimes violently) competing for a really lame object.

I hate crowds. I always like to put myself away from people. I get over it when I go to stuff like concerts and conventions but when I come out I really need my own space.
Some people at my school even insist I'm an emo because I don't like haggin out with 'the guys'. I'm not emo, I least I don't think I am.
If I has to put it down it would be because I don't like the prospect of so much primary interactions. I'm really intreverted so I like to get to no someone slowly. All those strange people, all at once... It just to much!

I'll echo the sentiments of others and say that I don't mind crowds at a concert, but in my daily life...no.

I never really notice when I'm in a crowd, so I guess it doesn't bother me. Concerts and stuff don't bother me either, unless I'm being trampled.

I'm with everyone who says crowds make them nervous.
