What to say when talking to yourself

No matter where you are or with whom, you're engaged in conversation. Granted, the conversation may be mundane ("How ya doing?"), repetitive ("Are we there yet?") or uncomfortable ("Are you free Friday night?"). Nonetheless, there is an exchange of words. There's also an exchange when you're talking to yourself, and it's the most important exchange of all. Put yourself down and you'll stay down. Talk pretty and you'll feel pretty. Give yourself a break and you'll break through your limitations. More simply, what you say when talking to yourself matters. A lot. I want to collect a bunch of quotations from you all. Do you have any words of wisdom, wit and inspiration. Please feel free to share quotes from favored characters or share some of your own personal quotes. Just remember that these are words we are to take to heart and mind so we will see ourselves and the world anew.
Let the conversation begin.

Here is what I say when I'm talking to myself:

"Love the reaches up is adoration. Love the reaches out is effection. But love that stoops is grace."
-- Donald Barnhouse --

"God has great purposes for everyone he has redeemed and there is a work for Jesus that none but you can do."
-- Alistair Begg --

"God dose not ask your ability or your inability. He asks only your availability."
-- Mary Kay Ash --

"He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose."
-- Jim Elliot --

"It’s easy to move mountains when you remember who made the mountain."
-- hs5k --

God Bless

"If you have made mistakes...there is always another chance for you...you may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call "failure" is not the falling down but the staying down."-Mary Pickford

"To fulfill a dream, to be allowed to sweat over lonely labor, to be given a chance to create, is the meat and potatoes of life. The money is the gravy"-Bette Davis

On a serious note. Colors really do confuse me

Think about it, what if purple really isnt purple? Just the majority of those who see purple chose that to be purple. But what really IS purple?

We cannot truely define a color. We can give it a hex value, or a "mix of green and blue". But whats green and blue? What determines a hex value to be that color?

One man's red can be another man's blue. All these things I wonder about.

Does this have to be monumental and uplifting self assertions, or can it be what I REALLY say...

The top ten things I say when I'm alone:

10. Dude, she's hot
9. I know God has something better for me right around the corner...
8. That's awesome!
7. God, please get me out of this...
6. Those idiots!
5. Green
4. I'm such an ***/idiot/jerk
3. Holy Crap!
2. Please forgive me for being so stupid
1. What am I looking for (I say this at least 20 times a day, whether I'm looking for something or not...)

I too have pondered this deeply before.

I guess I'm not the only weird one.

What, didn't you know? Purple is actually called blue! Just ask any artist familiar with the traditional color wheel. :poke:

I also had an astronomy teacher tell me once that the sun is technically green. Guess I'll have to take his word on that one...
