The only problem was that it required getting up at some insanely early hour of the day because the eagles are most active in the early early morning.

Nifty. I could sit and watch this all day (as it stands, there are consquences for sitting around all day, so we'll go with "could").

It's looking at me...

We have had a eagle watch here in Wash DC. There are a bald eagle couple who made their home near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge where they are building awhole new bridge and to add to it a new hotel and convention center, business and residential complex called National Harbor in the same area as the eagle nest. The two eagles are George and Martha and have raised up to four families. They were raising another family when a young female eagle came on the scene and got into a fight with Martha. The young eagle seriously injuried Martha that she had to be captured and taken to a wildlife center to be healed. At this time everyone is wondering if George is taking care of any nestings by himself or with the other eagle.
Nothing has been said in awhile but people are hoping that Martha will return soon and take up her mate and territory.
As the news people are saying stay tune for the next episode of "As the Nest Turns".

My dad was telling me about that site... think he said his friend set all that up. And Hornby Island (so close to home) I'm not surprised^^ It's hippie-land over there^^ I don't know how rare eagles are in America and all, but up here in the Canadian west coast I see/hear them all the time. Heard on close enough in my college a couple weeks ago that I thought it actually came in the building 0_0.
