Happy Easter holidays^^

Postby Tenshi no Ai » Fri Apr 14, 2006 10:53 am

Surprised no one else made this thread on good ol'... Good Friday. Forgot it was a holiday this morning too thinking "why is everyone still sleepign and not going to work?"

So what plans do you have for the weekend? Don't have many friends that went away to visit relatives... my one friend from all the way up here in Canada gets to go with her band class allllll the way down to Disneyland >_< (ooo me so jealous >_<) As for me, tomorrow night's a Sat so I'm having me regular ol' movie/DDR night and watching Kronk's New Groove (with a little help of someone on here that viewed it and said it was good ;) Thanks!) Tomorrow night will be the... well not big this year, but family turkey dinner.

(Today I am goofing off/preparing for Regionals, tommorow I am going to our Church's easter egg hunt (which I don't really want to, since all I do is hold Miss Meggie's leash and maybe eat a snow cone or cotton candy), and then on Sunday I go to the Easter service.)

I plan on enjoying a quiet meal with my family. Brother should be bringing his daughter too. That kid makes me smile every time I see her.

I'm going home and seeing my family, going to an Easter service, and eating an Easter dinner. I convinced Mom to get lamb (which my family never cooks but I like), so that should make the meal interesting, and I will enjoy being home for a bit.

We are having our Easter brunch after church on Sunday. Also the Sunrise Service, alhtough if the weather is the way it has been they'll probably have it inside.Never do go to the Sunrise service.
Time to see how many people show up that normally don't.
Other than that I think I'll hunt that pesky Easter Wabbit!

We'll got to church, then come home and share a meal, then... I don't know. Probably talking, board games, etc.

We had rain yesterday too. But that's to be expected in April.

We had our church's Easter drama/musical production on Thursday night, and two on Friday night (we do one every year for Easter and Christmas). This time I was in the band. :D

I will be spending time with family and going to church on Sunday.

Erm...I bid you all a happy Passover...I'm not Jewish but I don't celebrate Easter. I celebrate the Biblical Jewish holidays of Passover and First Fruits instead. For the record...Easter = pagan Roman sun god day. Really. Read up on it. Nearly all the symbols can be traced to pagan roots. The colored eggs are from Babylonian tradition and can be found on thier pottery. The rabbit is a pagan symbol of spring time fertility...same with the flowers. It's basically just a pagan "life/spring" festival.

Passover on the other hand is a very obvious Biblical symbol for the Messiah as Jesus was the last Passover lamb, causing the shadow of death to "pass over" all those who accept His redeeming blood. First Fruits is a Jewish harvest holiday that symbolizes the ressurection, as Jesus was the "first fruit" of the harvest to be taken up to heaven. Anywho...I suppose it does say somewhere in the NT that any day is the Lord's day if you want to dedicate it to Him sooo...Say hey to the Easter Bunny for me! ^-^ Even if he is a heretic.............

Happy Easter to all.
Well tomorrow *looks at time...* or today, I'm going to enjoy breakfast at my church. (All five minutes of it) before running off to the orchestra practice/warm-up thingy before church and then even more running as I go to choir's thingy too.
One would wonder how I can be in choir and orchestra at the same time until they see a group of us stumble across the stage (extra points is you have a considerable amount of wires to cross in heels!)
Well I get to see the church become sea of pastels (pastor jokes about it often), and get an extra burst in attentance from all our lovely biannual attentees.
Of course I'll pray for everyone in their respective churches that the pastors will teach a good message that people will apply to their lives.
Also, some better save me a chocolate bunny.

Gotta love that shining optimism. Well I knew about the pagan stuff (gotta love the lit teacher's interesting tidbits).
In any case its a tradition for us. I'm celebrating the resurrection after all, not Estore or what-chu-ma-callit.

He is Risen indeed! Happy Easter guys and girls!

We went to church today then had a barbeque with chops, potatoe, onion, sausages, salads and prawns. It was great. Then I just layzed about with our bearded dragon lizards while we talked. Good family time. Night all.

Use to be 25 years ago I had to work Easter because I worked in a officers' club kitchen on the US Air Base where I live. I did this for 6 years and then got a job working for the county government.
So I get to have a holiday on Easter.
I just wish more of my family got get together but they live so far away.
Its just me and my parents on Easter to eat together.
