Sleep Overdoses

The opposite of the Sleep Deprivation thread. How long have you slept for at one time?

I honestly don't remember ever sleeping more than 14 hours at a time. When at the hospital, sure, I couldn't really go anywhere outside of my bed but the bathroom, but I didn't sleep all that time I was in bed... More TV than is healthy for the human's lifetime, IMO.

I don't know. Maybe 13 hours some years ago after a Big Night Out (a Christian program for youth from 7pm at night to 5am in the morning).
But sleep is good. Oversleeping isn't but I haven't had much experience with it.

I had walking pneumonia once, and I'm thinkin' I slept all night, then all day, then all night again. When you have walking pneumonia, you're so weak you can barely move, so sleeping is the only comfortable thing to do. I woke up periodically to groan and roll over, but I always wound up falling asleep right away again.

I probably overdosed on sleep the most when I was sick once, and just drained of energy. I can't remember exactly, but I'm guessing the longest continous sleep was when I was really tired in the early afternoon, so went to sleep about 3PM, and woke up in the morning, maybe 9AM? So that's about 18 hours. Could have been longer; I don't know... I have had longer discontinous sleeps when I've been sick too.

Unfortunately sleep overdoses don't happen frequently enough these days...

I think one day in the Navy, when I had had a really rough watch and had been up a sizable portion of the night. I slept for about 16 hours, I believe.

One time when I was sick, I got around 16-18 hours of sleep--I took a nap that day, woke up for about 15 minutes (probably to eat or something), then went back to bed and woke up late the next morning.

While sick...I have been known to sleep upwards of like 15 hours at a shot. I come in and out of awareness then fall asleep again. I rarely get sick...but when I do...whoooa boy.

hmm...maybe 24 hours...probably a bit less. I think it was on a Saturday after one of the days I was extremely sleep deprived.

oooh yeah. One time I got sick... the day I was charged to move out a cabinful of luggage to a bus a third of a mile a way. I didn't tell anyone till I ran out of energy and kinda fell down some stairs. Then I slept the whole way home and had to sleep outside till my parents were able to pick me up from school, then slept another 10 hours before drinking a little water and then sleeping another 10. That was a bad flu season for me.

The longest time I have overdosed was sleeping at 7 PM and awakening at 10 AM the next day. No doubt this was due to the overnighter I pulled the night before...

I think the longest I've ever slept was roughly 12 hours, but I can't stay asleep for very long (usually I wake up after 6-7 hours), so I musta been wiped.

Hmm... Not much, maybe 12 hours.
I'm assuming we're talking about recent years.
