Ahhh. Another Valentines day. Such a great day for people to come in to my work and say. "Hey Mr Cashier boy look at my cute girlfriend that you don't have".

Yes Im just one of those guys who has the great missfortune of being single on Valentines Day and thus this "holliday" has absolutelly no purpose for me except for another chance to have my singleness rubed in my face.

I say this Vallentines day all of us singles unite and tell of all the reasons why its good to be single anyday. Not just on Vallentines Day. Im sure there are a lot of people who will rally to my cause.

Now whos with me.

Happy SAD (I don't think it's a coincidence that the joke ended up in that acrostic), everyone... Yeah... I'm wearing black today, to celebrate. This day really does suck for those of us who are "single and looking"

I'll just comfort myself with my trial of 3ds Max that runs FLAWLESSLY on my all in wonder! Man, this is beautifull... Like XBOX level beautiful just in the modeling window... Stupid couples can't appreciate 3d, with those sour grapes they're eating...

My, is this thread full of angst. I'm single and happy because my parents are sending me chocolate and I know there are going to be many happy couples today. I am ambivalent about being single. I am single, and that suits me right now, but I have no problem not being single someday either.

Being single's no reason to get angsty on Valentine's day. It's not like the happy couples have done anything to me, so let them have their fun. Besides, it gives my Dad an excuse to send my Mom flowers at work (not that he needs much of one, mind), and she really likes that type of thing, so it makes it hard for me to dislike the holiday entirely.

Yay! Another singles thread! I actually nearly forgot it was valentine's day. We had a small mention of the day in class, one girl thinks its a sad day, another guy thinks its a happy day (both single). It probably just depends on your outlook. I am also ambivalent about being single. Singleness + Valentine's day = chocolate and candy (even though today is a fast day -- I can still eat it tomorrow, though).

I disagree, I actually really want to buy somebody some chocolates or a flower or a cute card. But I'm single so I really can't

Hahaha...let's not go there. Sad or happy? They are both a state of mind, so what does it matter? A happy person may become sad through concentration, and vice versa. I don't much care about dating, nor about Valentine's Day, for that matter. It just sucks to be lonely at times. The way I deal with it is by training...and that only serves to make you freakishly good. Ah, yeah...especially when we have a dance this weekend at my school, and if I don't find a date to it, my friend says he will make me dance with his girlfriend, which I don't doubt. *Shudder.*

I, too, had almost forgotten that today was Valentine's day until a coworker came in handing out Hello Kitty valentine's cards (the kind of thing you'd get in grade school) to everyone ;).
In previous years this has been a depressing day for me. But over the last few months God has been showing me that being single is not just the state you happen to be in while waiting for that *special someone*, rather it is a time in life to give all my focus to the relationship that really matters. If one day that special someone does come along, great; but otherwise it is not something I worry or stress or despair over anymore.

Awkward.... I don't think I could ever do that -- of course, you and your friends are different from me.

Really? What ever happened to IfIWereAnAsian?

(perhaps it is best not to ask).

I am single as well. It did not occur to me that today was Valentine's.

Hmm. Seems to have been around quite some time. Longer than Thanksgiving, for one. I would say that pretty much establishes that it's not a "fake" holiday.

No wonder you're happy. :P There ought to be some criterion to exclude singles who are contented mostly because they already have some diabolical matchmaking plan set up somewhere in the near future. Hehe.

hm...why singleness is good? well, much as i'm NOT satisfied being single I can't deny how very good it is.

Relationships demand time...time that rivals time with God. not saying that the relationship w/ God and a sig. other isn't possible, but it requires maturity.

And speaking of maturity, relationships(the ones taht will work) require LOADS of maturity. They build maturity but they also require much....it takes much work to make things a success. and personally, I know I need to be single right now 'cause my maturity is still needing growth. not to say i wont need to be single tomorrow ;) but we'll see..

We actually all live in Tokyo Jupiter and are all products of the Mulians.

Seriously, what I did was send my female friends all e-cards.Now if I could only have a real life girlfriend it would make life sweeter.I guess I am stuck with being loved by my kitty for now.

Ah..St.Valentine's Day is the most Evil Day Of The Year..there for I dedicate it to two of my favorite anime heroines gone Evil..Dark Sailor Mercury and Evil Katsumi
Liqueur.
I say we celebrate the day by making everyone watch continous reruns of Dobie Gillis!
Ok,that's not really Evil..I mean..heck..I'd LOVE to watch Dobie Gillis...ok...we shall be Evil on today by having everyone watch endless reruns of My Mother The Car in
Italian!

I'm single and I genuinely love and perhaps overly value my status.
I have a sense of freedom and lack of encumbersome obligations and restrictions that would come with a relationship, although I am sure with the right man any compromises on my part would not feel as such.
I can view all males as my brothers in Christ or as lost souls that need to be reached without having to show special favor to any one of them.
I have the ability to focus especially on Christ (1 Corinthians 7: 32,33) without worrying about a boyfriend or spouse. I will never find myself in a postion where someone was telling me to denounce Christ or else see my spouse harmed or mistreated in some way; which be a hard test to bear.
I get all my needed social interactions from friends and never face the temptation that would come from interacting with a boyfriend.
I am not required by societal obligation to keep tabs on anybody, and my male friends can act as dumb as they want around on me and it in no way refelcts on me nor am I expected to explain or excuse their behavior.
