How do you guys usually jump start your day in the morning?

For me, I always start my day by getting up and stand outside to face the sun. Along with the cool morning temperature, the more sunlight you're exposed to, the more it helps wake you up.

I also eat a light breakfast, and invest in drinking coffee to break any signs of morning fatigue that might still be with me.

I just roll out of bed as late as possible, and am drowsy for a long time. Jump starts aren't my specialty. :-P

Shaving always wakes me up. Sounds odd, but I find that there is no better way to make sure I am awake than taking a razor to my face. Guess the care needed to keep from cutting myself helps wake me up.

I get out of bed at 7:30, but I don't wake up until I work out and clean up. This is rarely after breakfast and sometimes well into the afternoon.

My alarm goes off, then I wake up. Within ten minutes, I'm asleep again. 30-45 minutes later, I wake and actually get up. Then I turn on my computer, go to the bathroom, come back to the computer and check all my usual websites for updates.

From there I just wing it.

Ugh, I hate listening to rock when I've just woken up, it makes me feel sick for some reason! XD

I use a double alarm system because I don't trust myself. If I get like no sleep...I will wake up..hit the alarm, and roll back over. Because this has made me late to work a few times...I got an old fashioned horrifying alarm that I fear going off. Its motivation to stay up. Most times, I am fully awake after I walk around a bit after waking up. Get me wheels under me...and get my head clear. I absolutly hate it when people try to talk to me when I first wake up though.

Here's a hint for alarm clocks... put them just out of reach from your bed. That way you'll have to actually get up to stop the infernal buzzing. It works.

I disproved that. My alarm clock is far from me. I get up, hit it, then go back to sleep XD

Then you should be happy a lab at MIT designed a clock that rolls around the room to a random place every morning to force you to get out of bed and look for it! I think they called the thing clocky or something, it's not on the market, but it would be a real boon for people who have trouble waking up.

I think some of us (myself included) should invest in those alarms that the Tokyo subway system uses for its workers. The clock is attatched to an air pump that fills up a cusion under the pillow, pretty much knocking the person out of bed. They say it's fool proof.

I can wake up pretty early if I have somewhere to be, but if I don't I'll sleep as late as I can. In either case, I always start out with my quiet time first thing. Then it's a quick bout of sit ups to wake up the body and a soda to wake up the mind. Breakfast? What's that?

I usually get up to the shrilling sound of my alarm and then I walk down stairs and feed the cat. After that I pour myself a glass of milk for breakfast and drink it while watching ESPNnews. Then I rush to get ready for school and make it too the bus stop before my bus comes.

I usually stay up late the night before, so if I set my alarm I use two alarms. But it doesn't matter, because when I hear an alarm at 8:00 A.M. in the morning I just turn it off. And by the way, 8 o'clock isn't bad unless you didn't get to sleep 'til 1:00 or 2:00.
But when my mom does finally get me up, I slowly sit up and savor the moments of peacefulness before my day starts and school happens.
Then I walk over and turn on my computer, go to the bathroom, wander back into my room, check my email and various sites-mostly this one-for new posts or replys.
I'll then turn my PC off and start my school. Mornings...Ugh

I get up at about 7, knock out about 50 push-ups (starting tomorrow) then play DDR on workout mode until I've burned 500 calories (consuming 1.5 liters of water and a small portion of Goldfish in the process), then walk the dog, then eat breakfast (optional), and finish by taking a shower, doing my hair, brushing+flossing my teeth, cleaning my ears, shaving (yes, I shave. I'll have to find some time where I can afford to let it go for three days or so, then post a pic.), and then applying my three-step facial care regimen. Then, it's off to do schoolwork.

This works very well in my case, especially if the noise is downright annoying. Of course there are some days when it doesn't work and I end up sleep-walking just to shut the alarm off, and eventually set myself back to sleep.

I also tend to watch what I eat the night before. Eating too much before bedtime can have disastrous results and will leave you feeling 'groggy' the entire morning.

The morning routine is the most important routine of the day. The 'r' in routine stands for........

Anyway, alarm goes off. Press the snooze button. Alarm goes off 7 minutes later, press the snooze button. Repeat several times. Get up, have shower, breakfast, make lunch if necessary, drive to the bus stop if late. Oh, and I need a drink of water pretty much straight after I wake up.

I absolutely agree with that.

I wake up (don't even need an alarm most of the time - body clock), wash my face. Then I go to the kitchen and have a glass of water to wash down my anxiety tablet. Then I take our bearded dragon lizards outside (to their tank) and chop up some fruit and veg for them and give them some water. I then have breakfast, shower, toilet, brush teeth and then I'm ready to go. Depending on the day I often do some jobs around the house straight after all that.

i wake up at 8:00 without an alarm, and then stay in bed until 8:30 (i have to leave for school at 9:15) then i go upstairs and watch TV until around 8:50, and then take a 10 minute shower. 15 minutes to brush my teeth, get dressed, eat and head out the door.

You lucky people with your fancy alarm clocks. I get poked!! I share a bed with my sister, two dogs, and two cats. The dogs wake my sister up, she pokes me, I go to the bathroom, she yells at me for taking too long, we take the dogs out, wait for them to go to the bathroom(right now it's really cold, so we yell at them for taking too long), I go to the computer, read FMA, hang out here, make various wallpapers, layouts, etc., wait for mom to get up, eat breakfast, drink my cappucino, go back to the computer, then I do my schoolwork. ^_^ Isn't being homeschooled great?!I apologize for any errors in spelling. My fingers are so numb!

First thing after I wake up is to use the bathroom, then wash my face and brush my teeth.

At this point I still feel somewhat weak (hands can't form very tight fists, doh!), but am wide awake to do anything else.
