Looking older/younger than you are...?

Often times, people say that I look several years older than I really am. Tonight, someone saw my picture online and said that I look like I'm 25 (I'm 19) and refused to believe that I wasn't even legal.
Does anyone else have this kind of problem?

O_O ME! *hand shoots up* People always think I'm MUCH younger than I really am. I went to the dentist with my little brother, and we were sitting in the waiting room when I noticed the reception ladies pointing at us and saying "Which one do you think is older?"
...my brother was 13 at the time. I'm a senior in high school.
==; Doctors and people always tend to think I'm about 13....

When I went to a teen retreat (cause I can still go as a camper till I'm 20) NONE of the guys believed that I was 18! They thought anywhere between 14-16 :/ I have a few friends that are in their mid/late 20s and people still think they go to high school >_< When youth from another group hit on them, they didn't believe that they were the leaders :/

Happens all the time. I loathe it big time. I'm 22 and have been mistaken for a 17 year old (by my looks). When I was 18 years old in highschool (Year 12) I was mistaken by a teacher (who I didn't have) for a 13 year old! That really peeved me off and did great things for my self-esteem (not!!!). I acted my age, just didn't look it.

Yea, I'm seventeen (12th grade) and I was just recently asked if I was an 8th grader! A lot of people at my youth group refuse to believe I'm a senior.

I used to look a lot younger than I actually was, but now my looks have started catching up, especially since I now have a goatee.

Hahaha, I swear, my mom almost hugged the cashier at the grocery store once when she was asked to show ID when she bought a bottle of wine (she was 36 then).

I have the opposite of the majority, from the looks of it. People always think I'm a lot older than I am, and especially online. People PM me all the time and are like "whoa you're only 19?!" But most people think I'm mid-twenties-ish. My brother is 15, and almost everyone has mistaken him to be 18 or 19 before, so maybe it runs in the family?

I think they're required to do that. My guitar teacher (who is and looks 50) was asked if he was over 18 when he was buying cigarettes

I'm 25 and people often think I am 16-18...
I've had to whip out my ID a few times to prove it to silly eggs who want to argue with me!
although, people tend to think I am older than my sis, Kazekami, who is 27!

When I was 11, someone once thought I was around 20. Last year, when I showed my college ID, the lady behind the counter told me I looked too young to go to college.

Before I started growing facial hair, I was helping some friends move into their new house, My friends brother's co-worker's wife though I was only 14 yrs old. I was either 18 or 19 at the time! I'm not really tall, but I'm not short either. I am around 5' something.

Ashely I don't know why any one would think that you look older, becase from the pictures that youve posted, you look some ware orund 17 1/2 to 19 yrs old. Before you died your hair, you looked even younger compared tpo your actual age. The first pic I saw of you looked 16ish.
Either way you still look great.
To anyone who would read more into this post than what I meant, no, I am
not hitting on Ashley.

The rep at westwood thought I MUST have just graduated HS... *sigh* I hate looking young... The only girls that are ever attracted to me end up being WAY too young... *glares at the general female population*

Guys always seem to think I'm about 16 or 17 years old. I'm almost 23.
I get this a lot at the arcade when I go to play DDR. I've had more than one 16-year-old kid start trying to chat me up, and then end up saying, "Whoa, you're 22?!" Yeah, sorry boys, I'm not looking for jailbait. o.O

When I was a teen, people always thought I looked older. When I was in my twenties, people thought I looked older. Somewhere in my thirties, it flipped, and people started thinking I was younger. Now, in my forties, despite having some gray in my beard, they think I'm in my thirties. For some people, it just works that way.
My father is sixteen years older than my stepmother. They look the same age.
My theory is, you can't really tell how old someone is, by looking at them, but our society is suffering under the mass delusion that you can. So everyone who doesn't fit the mold thinks there's something strange about themselves.

People think I'm younger than I really am. I know I'll enjoy its benefits later, but right now it's a pain!!! *calming breath* Alright, my rant is over. ^_^

People generally think that I am older than I am. Though I think that is happening less now that I am getting more into my 20's.

I would probably look 15 if I didn't grow my gotee. When I was younger, people said I looked older than I was( i.e: I was 14, they thought I was 16, but again, it was the facial hair...).

Ever since I've gotten out of highschool younger people have called me "oom" which designates someone much older than oneself. To have people a year younger that oneself call you that is somewhat depressing. But then again I do suppose it is the beard.

I was asked at an area restaurant if I would be having the senior's breakfast. I thanked them for the offer of the discount but informed them I still had a couple of years to go.

I grow out of this problem about two years ago when I reached the age people have thought I was since I was 8. You have no idea how good it feels to acualy have an answer to "How did you do on your(secondery) exams?". It had something to do with my sence of humor and being around a foot taller than most people my age.

In 1999, when I was 21 years old, I proceeded to buy a subway charge-up credit card from one of Hong Kong's subway stations. My conversation with the ticket officer went a little like this:
Me: An octopus card, please. (that's what the cards are called)
Ticket officer: Child? (a child is 16 years or under)
Me: No, for one adult.
* Ticket officer looks at me and thinks for a few seconds.. *
Ticket officer: No, I think you're a child. Here you go, half price.
Me: Ugh... thanks.

The few times I've gone to pubs with friends to get a drink and chat:
* All my friends walking into the pub, security guard letting them pass through *
* Then when I am about to enter *
Security guard: Whoa! Hang on a sec mate, you got some ID on ya?

You don't look 16...maybe 19.
