Darn Creativity...

As some of you may know, I'm trying to get into the game design business.
Now, realistically, yes, I know about all the difficulties of such. All the same, I have come up with many, MANY plans, outlines, designs etc. for what I want to do.
However, I recently run along a bit of a... problem.
Some of my ideas just don't work in that sort of medium. They'd be better suited for, well, a more graphic novel-ish sort of style.
I WILL get into game design, but I don't want to give up on these either (and I've spent quite a bit of time planning these out as well).
I have the feeling some/many/most of you are probably just looking at me as some big dreaming, "head in the clouds" person who doesn't know what he's doing (maybe not
exactly like that...), but I just... I have too much in my head I want to get out, one way or another. But if I do, I want it to be KNOWN.
*sigh*
I don't know... forgive me. It's the curse of creativity.

You can always work on side projects, nights and weekends. And who knows, you might decide you like your side projects better, and switch professions later on if you find you're successful at it.
Just don't let your many plans and ideas overwhelm you to the point of functional paralysis. That can also be a curse of creativity, at times.

True.
You don't have to squelch your dreams and ambitions, but you
do have to prioritize them.

I am very much like you in this respect. My ideas are numerous and span a great many media.
All I really have to say to you other than what has been said is this: you probably don't need to worry about it yet (after all, you're only two). Focus on learning, on developing your imagination (helpful in any of your areas, most likely), upon becoming a more devout Christian. Do the things that you enjoy and see where they take you.
In any case, there is historical precedent of people crossing between different realms of fiction.

Actually, I feel more a need to worry now than ever...
[SPOILER]
I'm 17, and have one year before college/tech.

This I find interesting. Perhaps an example?

Neil Gaiman. I believe his first work was in American comic books, but he has now written novels and is working on a movie and manga volumes. A more general example is that some Japanese gaming companies have actually hired writers to work with the storylines.

Unless you're making an unalterable choice in that time, why should that make you hurry? Presuming you go to a normal college, you'll still have time to decide what direction to take your life. I've found a general education is helpful to me even though it doesn't directly relate to any of my projects.

Very true, I suppose.
I guess it's like I don't want to be someone who does different odd things, though I'm seeing how I may end up having too... guess I'll just wait and see where God takes me.

Max Payne. Ever play it? It's a game and it's a graphic novel.
Homeworld. Image slides between missions, and at the beginning and end.
You can use graphic novel style in game design - maybe you'll even be famous for it, with your name on the box like Sid Meier with Civilization.

Graphic novel design, you say? Well, I've seen/heard of some similar effects (such as in the recent Spiderman game and XIII). Interesting...
And no, I haven't played Max Payne yet, though it seems quite interesting.

My game idea (which you may see on store shelves in ten years hopefully...) would also make a fine manga. It's christian too, but it's gonna be an action RPG. You won't get anymore info Pthtllplp.

You know the Edison quote "Genius is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration?" He wasn't just talking about doing a lot of work, he was talking about exercising discipline also. I've been struggling with the same problem for a long time; I think I'm finally getting somewhere, enough so that I may have something ready for publication by the end of this year, but it has been a long, slow row, and I still have to force myself to stick to the job.
