I haven't noticed.
Though seriously was there a poll taken by someone to show that there were more female than male anime fans?

Are you saying there are more female anime fans than male?
I would be surprised by that - it certainly hasn't been the case in my life, but that could be a reflection of my age.

I don't know. There's not much to say considering anime is considered to be part of a niche market. Though I will admit that there is an abundance of shoujo titles out there, which could say that there is a sizeable portion of the market aimed towards females.

I'm not sure if I agree that more girls watch anime compaired to males. I always thought in the past there seemed to be more fan-service type anime (compaired to Bishoujo) or genres that lean more towards male interests. Now, I think there is a fairly even amount of genres released that interest both sides. I think the number is leaning slightly more male, but not much more; probably pretty close to each other. I think the number is pretty close that people could debate either side

I know someone put a poll up on CAA and it showed that the distribution of guys and girls was pretty even.

I only have personally met one girl that likes anime.
I have met 5 guys who like anime.
I met myself. I am one of those 5 guys.
I do not think this can be proven. You need to interview every last boy and girl on the planet and say if they like it or not.

I would like to see where that number on males vs. females came from. I haven't noticed more guys than girls. I see guys hovering around the shonen manga and girls discussing shojo manga. As far I have seen it is pretty even.

I figure there's a 49.99999999999999999999999999-% chance of girls being in the lead, and a 49.99999999999999999999999999-% chance of guys being in the lead, with the one very unlikely edge case of the numbers being exactly even.

i mean't my question in a general way i myself believe the gender "differences" are all social. but were i get my reason for more females that males is advertising and the cons.(aka it is just a hunch that is all).

Polls can be fun or they can be ridiculously funny. In either case I don't see why it matters which group likes anime more.
My only question is do half-guys/half girls get half points in the polls?

I would say it's are also welcome.
(note:there was no poll and what i based the statment on was generaly what i saw nothing more.)
