When Ripley's Believe It Or Not was on TV there were showing a wedding of a man and a Barbie doll. You see, his fiance died... and somehow he figured... her soul made it into that plastic doll... and married it >_<

My question is, were Barbie and Ken legaly divorced before this happend? And what did the Dolphins parents think. These are major questions.

Well, they denied "perversion", in other words that the marriage was consumated. I think this is one where legit feelings find the wrong expression in culture, much like I think is happening with some measure of all this homosexual behavior we are now seeing.

I actually read about this a couple days back in the newspaper, the blurb at the top caught my attention instantly. Evidently the dolphin is the love of her life, but it isn't anything sick or perverted? (to quote her loosely)

Suuuure..:eyebrow:

Edit: ah, GhostontheNet beat me to it.

It's like people who have dogs and cats instead of spouse and/or children, some even treating pets like children.

I had already heard about this.
This is the kind of thing that reassures me, that there are people in this world more disturbed then me.

"Sharon Tendler met Cindy 15 years ago. She said it was love at first sight."

....with a DOLPHIN??

*is weirded out*

How do we know if the dolphin said "I do"?

I love chinese food, but I'm not about to marry my lunch!

Seriously, though, this is one messed up situation. I mean, just getting the seating right so both families could attend must have been a nightmare!

Maybe she did it for the publicity? If so, it's totally working.

<_<; at least it's a male dolphin...

don't know why his name is Cindy...I feel a bit bad for him...unless Cindy means "incredibly manly" or something along those lines in another language.

I approve of the generally light-hearted tone so far. While this topic deserves serious commentary, I do not believe CAA is the place to do it, especially because such commentary might approach or cross the theological debate line. In keeping with this trend, I will limit myself to randomness.

ILoveArt wrote:He did say "I do" but he was talking about wanting some fish. LOL

Heh. I was going to take a different route altogether:
Cindy: Squeek!
Sharon: Oh, how sweet, he said "I do!"
Cindy: Squeek! [Translation: Feed me or go away, freaky lady!]

Yeah she just has an unhealthy attraction to the dolphin. Like someone else pointed out, she is in same league as people who have animals that replace people. From reading the article I doubt she wants to jump in the water and do anything with the dolphin.:P

The whole thing reminds me of my little sister, who insists the family pets understand english perfectly.

'"It's not a bad thing. It's just something that we did because I love him, but not in the way that you love a man. It's just a pure love that I have for this animal," she said.'

But still, she didn't have to MARRY it. :eyeroll:

Cindy: Yeah, yeah, sure, lady, just give me the herring and let me go!
