Do it, and it might happen to you...

Well, today was the second day our workplace was open. Our grand opening has been hectic... so many strict things to take care of. It can be nerve-racking sometimes, what with about a billion dishes to wash and sort every day, and more if the morning crew doesn't do their own. Sandwich making has to be perfect and quick... you must do all that you can to prevent any kind of contamination to food products (which is harder than it sounds). In short, working for Quiznos isn't a light matter like working at, say, Subway is (Sorry, evil ene... I mean fellow sandwich makers, if any of you work at Subway*). And the hours... 9 per day, which means that I don't see my parents any more, and it seems like I don't get to see my gf much anymore. It's a sacrafice.
Life is full of these kinds of jobs, I'm sure. I'll bet that a lot of you have similar jobs, harder or simpler. So, how does one manage to keep their sanity when going through it? The answer is simple... As I said in an earlier thread, do it for God! Your employers can sense something special about that kind of work. Some workers who work just for the money stick out clearly... cussing when something gets added to their workload and having a lot of attitude. As Christians, we need to be the opposite. Look for opprotunities to do extra work, do your best at what you do, and show respect to everyone. And do it for God. Thank Him if you are able to work... many people can't do so, and not for lack of trying. A job is a blessing, so do it well. God will give you the power to do great things if you rely on Him.
This is the attitude that I've had just these past 2 days, and as I was walking out I recieved news that I would be getting a raise. Second day, and already getting a raise! Why? Because they saw me as a "very hard worker" who stuck out from the rest of my coworkers. See? You WILL shine out if you do everything selflessly and for the Lord, and in turn, He will bless you with more. Thus, work even harder than before... When God gives you gold, keep it all shiny and clean; don't let it accumulate dust!
Bottom line: Do your best. God's watching and wanting you to work your hardest at EVERYTHING you do!
