I haven't come across a word for a cat person in my Japanese studies, but it could be nekojin. Jin is the suffix meaning person and is can generally be attatached to different words to mean a type of person. For the moment though, I have no guarantee this is the actual correct word.

Oh, and it's not nekou. The 'u' is not used as the word is only two short syllables with no long pronounciation for the 'ko' in Japanese. The word in hiragana is written exactly ne-ko.

"Neko-jin" is the only term I've heard used, and that's otaku slang. I don't know if there is an actual word for cat people in Japanese, since they're a creation for (usually male) otaku and thus tend to be pushed into the underground of society as otaku themselves are.

The only actual "neko" or cat youkai that comes to mind is the nekomata, and they're more cat-like than human like; more like a magical animal. The cat girls portrayed in anime and manga may be a cat version of inugami, but I'm not aware of a name for a cat-type inugami: as their name suggests, inugami are dog-type youkai, similar (but not quite the same) as InuYasha and Sesshoumaru.

Sorry I couldn't help more than that!

More like a dog than the wolves we know of in the United States, but yes, from the Canidae family.

"Otaku" is Japanese for "fan" or "fanatic".

The word does not carry the respectable connotation that American anime fans find in it - in Japan, "otaku" are characterized by obsessive behavior, immense collections and non-conformity with Japanese standards of civility and sensibility - they act very much like major anime fans in the United States, which is frowned upon in Japan.

Calling someone an "otaku" in this country is relatively benign and sometimes welcome - it's how Otakon got its name. Calling someone an "otaku" in Japan suggests that they're a loser who lives in a basement surrounded by their anime stuff.

You could always use "Neko no hito" for Cat Person, I guess. Nekojin seems to work as well.

I am not sure how to, in Japanese, to differenterate between a Cat Person (half cat. half human) or a Cat person (as in some who likes cats)

What is eaxactly the question? I am rather confused.

What Japanese term refers to a person who is half human, half feline.

Like this character from Darkstalkers:

Oh ok, so not a person who likes cats. Kinda like Werewolves. In English, it's not Wolf-People but Werewolves. I can look it up maybe.

Neko-jin would proably work if anything.

not like werewolves... it's not a transformation... they're like a Griffon... they're a chimera of a human and a cat...

A more advanced version of cat-humans is the Animal Type Auroran, Tarujin... something I came up with...

Taru-jin are not like Neko-jin... they don't have 'mitted' hands (Paws)... or the feet... and instead of hard, long, retractble 'fingernails', they have blades that extend from between their fingers like Wolverine from X-Men (But they're not made of Adamantium... They're made of a super-hard type of bone... I have yet to figure out what to call this material...)... and their ears are like human ears but pointy... also... they have 'psionic' powers...
