Did the Grinch Steal Your Christmas?

Yes, I'm speaking from the Southern Hemisphere here so I'm in the latter half of Christmas Day as I post this.

For those of you who are looking forward to - and have had - an awesome Christmas - Merry Christmas and I'm glad that you had such a good day!

Here's a thread for commiseration and solace for those from which the Grinch did, regrettably, steal Christmas. (-_-; )

So, seriously or non-seriously: how did the Grinch steal Christmas from you?

Personally, the Grinch visited in the form of a family feud. I've managed to start to laugh about it half-heartedly now... I probably won't be later. Otherwise, the first half of the day was awesome. The Grinch didn't manage to steal the whole day, which is a plus. :P

*Assumes Archan's voice*

I personally don't think the Grinch is that bad, in fact, stealing Christmas makes the Grinch very sad.

It's true yes, the Grinch stole a present or two, But that was long ago in the small town of Who.

So for those whom think the Grinch stole some cheer, The Grinch humbly is sorry, and wishes you all a Happy....New....Year

What, no, I'm not the Grinch, I'm telling you I'm not the Grinch. Pay no attention to the Avatar, this is little ol Archan. You know Archan, they guy who dissappears for months and then pops back out of the blue? Yes Archan....not the Grinch. Stop looking at the Avatar!

Runs Off....

LOL! Nice, Archan. ^_^ I love the rhyme. Did you make it up or get it from the book/movie?

Awww I'm sorry you're getting no white Christmas, CRonin. Over here we were mostly cloudy but finally obtained some sun in the afternoon which is awesome because its meant to be Summer over here.

...considering the temperature, perhaps we are stealing your white Christmas? My apologies! :P

Oh, and sorry for the depressed sounding initial post. Things were patched up a little by the evening and I'm feeling better now: at the time of that post I was a little worked up. ^^"

Glad to hear it, but venting is good, in moderation ^_^

I'd say that the Grinch may have made an attempt at stealing my Christmas through sheer business. I only finished classes on Tuesday and I've been working at the bakery the last two days. Christmas has really caught me off guard this year, infact, I'm still finishing up a gift for a friend, and I'm kinda wrapping all my gifts at midnight on Christmas Eve...

Ah well, Christmas day is shaping up pretty nicely and I have the next week off of work and all to myself! Mebbe I can have a post-Christmas season..

Hey, merry christmas! Just back back from midnight mass :)

Doesnt look like I'll be getting a white christmas either but oh well; time to go to bed so "santa" can "come" while I'm "sleeping" ;););););););););)

Sorry to hear that CreatureArt I hope its all sorted out soon.

I had a bit of an arguement with my bro (he was playing his electric guitar too loud) but its all mended. Other than that the Grinch didn't steal this Christmas.

No snow here! Waaah!

It's strange, we're not really having a white Christmas over here either. And normally it's all frigid and blizzard-ey this time of year. It was actually sunny and 8 degrees (celcius) today, people were wandering through the grocery store in shorts :eyebrow:

Ah well, it was -30 degrees back in early December, so it is winter. And I'm sure the temperatures'll plummet again in January.

Thanks, LQ and W4J.

Yeah things are a little rough right now but it looks like the waters have settled down a little. In the end, I can't actually do anything to work things out so I just have to really work at leaving it at God's feet and asking him to help out. Aside from this, I've had a fantastic day with the family and my pressies.

Thanks for the advice, LQ. Its great to get it out but I'll deliberately work at not chewing it over and over.

Argh - I'm sorry to hear that you've been so busy right up to a few days before Christmas, LQ! I emphathise with your very last-minute wrapping. Some of mine were wrapped on Christmas morning today. I hope you have an awesome day tomorrow (/perhaps today. I'm not particularly good with timezones) and that you make good use of your time off in the week following Christmas - take the time to chill out and enjoy yourself so that you feel rejuvinated for the new year. :)

Merry Christmas to you, too, Jedisonic! Yes... 'santa' can come while you're sleeping with his 'flying reindeer'....

Thanks to you too, W4J. Things have subsided for the most part which is a big relief. They're not perfect but better than I expected so that's a plus. :P Hah, and I just noticed the Christmas hat on your avatar! Nice work! (Now that I mention it yours is pretty awesome too, LQ. That scarf is great). I'm glad to hear that things are mended with your brother, but I must admit I can't sympathised with your sorrow over the lack of snow. I revel in the fact we enjoy a Summer Christmas. ;)

However, for you LQ, I'm sorry that while you must suffer through Winter you might not get a white Christmas to make up for it. I hope the day goes well and it a nice one for you and everybody on CAA who has Christmas on (my) tomorrow.

The Grinch snuck down my chimney. Then I sucker-punched him and he ran off.

Well, It might have been Archan, I can't really tell the difference these days. ;)

Believe it or not, the Grinch DID steal our Christmas this year...AGAIN! :)

My siblings and I have a yearly tradition of "Grinch-hitting" Christmas...we steal and hide EVERY SINGLE PRESENT...okay, sometimes the Christmas decorations too. ;)

But don't worry...we always bring them right back after the family devotional. Hopefully we'll still do that this year. :)

Various members of my family and I are unfortunately ill today. The Grinch thereby stole some of our joyous Christmas spirit, but all is not lost. Merry Christmas, all.

Lol! Give that Grinch ...or possible Archan... what-for! ^_^

I like your Methods, SMB. That's a pretty good idea and I guess it means no-one opens their presents until you're all ready. Nice.

Argh - I'm sorry to hear that you and some of your family members are sick today, THobbit. I hope both you and the day get better as it goes along and that you have an awesome time anyhow.

Meh, he tried, but the silver linings shine bright.

Granny went home on the 21st, and the funeral was yesterday. I miss her terribly, but know where she is, so it's not nearly as bad as it would be otherwise.
Most of my cousins and aunts (whom I haven't seen in at least a year) came, and we've become friends again. I've managed to get the e-mails of most of them, so we won't lose touch when they go back up north (...again).
We've managed to keep Granny's passing and Christmas separate mentally, for the most part.
I'm kinda worried about one of my cousins, he's also an introvert, and has been sheilding his emotions (or just isn't able to show them much, like me). I hope he isn't keeping them in.
Anyway...
We're all going to see Narnia on Wednesday, maybe I can get into the festive spirit by then.
Huzzah for silver linings!

Our family gatherings are always pretty peaceful and warmhearted and whatnot. But my uncle seriously embarrased my aunt for a couple minutes with his antics while we were opening presents.

I really can't talk too much about it, as it's personal.

But...today was fine until about 2 hours ago. I'd really not like to talk about it, but prayer would be appreciated, if you could say a quick one for me.

Can and will do. I hope it goes better for you.

I'm also sorry to hear about your Grandmother, FGirl. I hope things go well for you guys and that you are able to share in the comfort of your family and of knowing where she is now.

I'm also sorry to hear about your Auntie, NL. I hope it went all right apart from that.

I am glad that Lady McB and Yojimbo had a better Christmas. I hope you finish it well with a lot of good cheer and happiness. :) Yes, we have a few family members who routinely embarass themselves and those around them at all family gatherings too....

Well, it was dampened a bit by a heavy phone call, but it turned out ok... Oh, and my mom was gonna buy a 512 MB camera card, but they ran out, so she got 256 MB... I could have used that for storage... I'm happy with 256, but the only reason I didn't get a 512 was because they ran out... I was so close!

And, actually, I don't really care that much that I didn't get a 512... I probably shouldn't have put a serious one and a joke right next to each other...

Yeah, same here CA! Usually it's uncomfortably hot on Christmas Day, but this year it was a bit cool/cloudy. Ah well, it went well (two wells in the same sentence??).

It almost did.

I got into a car "accident" which found out a day before Christmas Eve that it will cost $2,100 to repair. I also found out I failed a class without prior knowledge to failing upon taking the exam. Even though I got a A on a major paper, got decent grades on my tests, and arrived to every class.

But I decided not to worry about it and let God take control. ::still is worrying a little bit about it::

Christmas was still fun though - one of the better Christmas's.

Heh. The grinch just visted me in the form of my truck dieing. Add that to the stack of bills I can't pay right now. I hate this time of year. Spring can't come soon enough.

Tried. In the form of drama between my dad and I. But we worked it out half way through the day. God is good.

the grinch stole my christmas because there was no spirit in the house >_> i was feeling depressed most of the day

but one thing that the grinch did not steal that made me very happy was that I was able to talk to a friend of mine (over the phone) whom i have not come in contact with for over 5 months

Well how does this sound for the Grinch stealing my Christmas.
I email family members to start working on Christmas list around October because i wanted to get done before Christmas.
My brother and his wife wouldn't answer my emails and I had to ask their children for help of what to get them for warped gifts.
Being that my brother lives 2 hours away in the Virginia mountains we don't get to make many trips to where they live.
We couldn't go up on Christmas Day to exchange gifts because everyone had to be somewhere else that day so they decided to do it Friday before Christmas. I had to take off from work and my nephew had to lose sleep before he had to go to work Friday night.
So everyone ate lunch, open gifts Friday afternoon and after that had to leave right after that. So there was not alot of socializing with family.
We got stuck in traffic on the way home for an hour near home.
Christmas Day was raining and everyone in my house just sat around looking at TV. If it had snowed for Christmas I would have had to gone to work for 12 hours because of my job with public works.
To add to this my computer went down Thursday before Christmas because of the modem, bugs in the system and my software was too old to work anymore.
So I spent most of Christmas worry over that.
I just got back on Wednesday with a new modem from the phone company. :shake:
