Tonight I went Light Seeing with my family.. You know, light seeing...that one time out of the year where it is OK to go driving around the neighborhood and look at people's house and not look weird doing it.
Tonight I saw a Cowboy Santa (That's right) someone dressed Santa up as a Cowboy YEEHAW. He had a rope in his it was too cute! There was also a Christmas Cactus! ^_^
I had lots of fun!
Did anyone else go Light Seeing?

Light-seeing was definately a fun tradition my family and I used to go through. It felt like being in a parade on the street, admiring our neighbors intense effort of hanging thirty or so sets of lighting around their house. Heck, it was the only time when we can drive around the neighborhood in circles and not look crazy.
Sadly, we didn't do it this Christmas, but I am hoping that the neighbors are willing to leave their lights on for a couple more days. ^_^

We have a street of Christmas lights near us (walking distance)... one year every single house had some sort of Christmas lights around their front yard. But such is not the case every year; most houses have lights on most years. Other years it has been really busy (because it has even been popularised through the media), but we've only seen them this year at...uh...non-peak times when some houses haven't even have their lights turned on still.

My family always goes light seeing after our church's Christmas Eve service. There is one house that has a huge fir tree (three stories) and they decorate it every year. That's always my favorite house.

Oh, that's one of my favorite Christmasy things! My family went looking at lights Friday night. Our favorite house had a row of about two dozen little plastic Santas along the front of the yard. It was wonderfully tacky.

Here in Austin, every december the city puts together "The Trail of Lights," in Zilker park. At the end of the course there's a huge man made christmas tree. I haven't been awhile so I decided to go with a few of my friends this year. It's pretty neat.

Hey, Agasfas! Have you ever been to Marshal TX, to see their lights by any chance? I have! And for some reason one year TLC did a special on that..^^;
It was really neat, we drove through this one neighborhood and like ALL of the people got out paper bags and set candles inside of them and lined them all up along their roads it was really spiffy!!! I liked it!!

Unfortuantly, I did not go light seeing this year.
When I was a kid, that is the one thing I liked about christmas. My turblent family could make it through a session of being in the car and not explode. Silly, but yea. I love light seeing.
