Christmas Choir Contest

Postby Kawaiikneko » Tue Dec 06, 2005 9:59 am

Hey everyone, I was wondering if you all could do me a favor. My school's choir is a finalist in a contest on a local station called Sunny 95. The voting goes til the end of today, and if our song wins the contest it'll be played on the radio this Christmas season. Our school will also recieve $500 and a $8000 piano. So, if a bunch of you could go to http://www.sunny95.com and click on the School Choir Christmas Idol thing to the right side of the page and vote by the end of the day, it would really be appreciated.

Our school is Worthington Christian and the song is Carol of the Bells. You can listen to the 15 sec. clip too. They're really good ^^
No I'm not in choir.

no we already lost...

and some stupid freshman in our school voted 700 times for the other school. Everyone wanted to kill him... or at least the choir did.
But besides him we had everyone in their study halls voting non-stop with the whole *vote* *backspace* *vote* *backspace* thing...
But we lost T_T

is it just me, but doesn't voting in that manner completely undermine the purpose of voting? I mean, if you just spam the ballots then it doesnt prove anything except that you have better button mashers in your choir? I saw this post but did not vote simply because I dont think it would be fair to the other school. I didnt see the concerts so I cannot judge which one was superior, and therefor I have no right voting.

Edit: oops, I didnt see that you can hear a sound clip. I still hold to what I said about spam voting though.

On a more sympathetic note, I am sorry you lost. It is really tough not getting recognition. When I was in High School, my drama team went to a regional drama competition every year, and every year something beyond our controll caused us to recieve no recognition. One year the judge had a mysterious pre-existing grudge against our director, once there was a small technical difficulty involving the host schools equiptment that caused us to go over the time limit by 12 seconds, and to top it all off, my senior year there was a huge snow storm that caused it to be delayed till the next weekend... at which time the whole drama team was in Nicaragua. Fact is when that type of stuff happens, you just have to ignore it and push forward.

Man, it's a shame they didn't have a better, fairer voting system. Had that been the case, your school might have won after all!

well our school only has about 400 people total and the other two schools are around that many per class, so we were fairly outnumbered in the number of people voting.
