Anyone see the prices on eBay for a Xbox 360 today...?

http://search.ebay.com/xbox-360_W0QQfromZR40

I can't imagine having to have something so badly that pay this much.

I'd sure SELL it for that much if I had one, but never PAY that much

I remember back a year ago when they were selling the Nintendo DS. People would buy like 12, then sell them on ebay and stuff

I knew it would happen. I have to wonder if Microsoft created a fake market shortage, then paid off some people to sell 'em on ebay for that much...

I dunno. Maybe I'm just suspicious. But there's no way a company like Microsoft couldn't have produced enough units to meet the demand. They're purposely faking a shortage...why, I'm not sure yet...

I remember the PS2 as well going high, but some of these idiots are bidding $2000+ for this thing.

Seems to me it's better to wait a few months and then go get one with the bugs worked out

Well remember the same thing happened to the PS2 when it came out. There is always a shortage on big ticket items.

Claiming that Microsoft didn't supply enough systems is one thing, which is actually the problem. Saying they have agents actually buying them up and selling them on Ebay for extra cash is ridiculous.:eyeroll: Anyway I'm number 14 on the next shipment.

I'll deffinetly be preordering two PS3's and selling one.

No joke. Most recent systems I had was a PS1 (before they called them that), a N64 and a GBA.

Looks like a lot of these were based on the seller expecting on getting them today. I wonder how many of them found out at the last minute they were number X on the next group to be shipped

I was almost ready to bust out laughing at GameStop today.

The clerks were really ticked off by all the people that had to cancel their order or didn't have enough to pay for it then. :P

Were there people on hand to swoop them up?

I forgot this was the day until I went into Circuit City and saw the signs saying "We are Out of the xbox 360."

I'm just wondering why they purposely didn't make enough systems to go around.

If you think that is bad. Here is something far worst.

At a Best Buy in Atlanta. A women was held at gun point by a guy that wanted the Xbox 360 that she just brought.

Well I hope so I mean Microsoft's not that evil.;)

Yes they could of made more. I deffinetly wish they would of at least made enough to cover preorders. Just out of curiousity I've called several stores to just ask questions about shipments. Most places won't have any systems on the shelf till February...ridiculous. It was just as bad when I first got my PS2, but still. On one hand they have purposely been making more premiums than cores which is pretty good marketing. And with the PSP which never really "sold out" and got some bad press because of it despite the fact it sold so well. I wish these companies would get over the "if it doesn't sell out completely then it's bad for business" They probably could of gotten a million or extra units out there, but then I don't work for them it's easy for me to sit here and say that.

I've decided I'm preordering at least 3 PS3's, one for myself of course. Of course from different locations since the one per person limit. I could make at least $800 easy by the way this has been going. If rich lazy people wanna pay $1000 for a $400 system then that's fine by me.:thumb:

It was a joke.

Maybe so, but it still appears to be true that alot of them are getting 360s just to make a buck off 'em. @_@

Were there people on hand to swoop them up?

Eh? I dunno. Most of them had preordered, but then had to cancel for some odd reason, and then there was some kid that was like, the first one on the list, and he had an argument with them over some crap. :P

I'll definately buy an Xbox 360 eventually, but to pay that much for a game console is absurd.

You could definitely buy an awesome computer for $1000...I just don't see why people are freaking out about Xbox 360 so much. Must be all those Halo fanboys...

Yumie made a 200 dollar profit selling a core system to someone. I thought it was pretty funny. They picked up two or three of them just to resell them for cash.

I think I might do the same with the PS3...

I think buying a 360 just to take advantage of supply & demand and make a huge profit on E-Bay is immoral, and the people who are willing to shell out that much cash on a game console are obviously trying to make up for something that's lacking in their lives (and I'm not talking about a 360).
