I am in need of poems that talk about freedom, driving, or such (my theme is about the euphoria that driving in my t bird brings me).
I would go to the library but I have been puking my guts out for the last three days from some tartar sauce i had on some fish (ate it fast and didnt notice it tasted funny till halfway through due to hurring for work). Turns out it expired in august or something.....yeah....

But any help would be most appreciated.

I know of several poems about freedom, but finding one that has any correlation to driving is going to be tough. . .

And it's not supposed to be a poem you wrote yourself, I guess?

Eeeewww. :?:
Yuck. :waah!:
Well I'll try to add you to the prayer list. :pinned:
I'm not good at coming up with poems, but shouldn't you write it? I mean your down and out so wouldn't that give you the perfect time to think something up? Just a thought...

Mainly I am seeking poems by dead or living authors. For example I am using Robert Frost's two paths the road less traveled (or whatever its called) since it has to do with freedom of choice and how that affects you (besides the obvious path correlation to cars)

Dead or living - aren't those pretty much the only options? Well, I guess that might at least bring undead authors into question, but zombies and the like are dead in a very real sense.

There once was a desperadoughnut
Who drove in his T-Bird then - oh, what?
It seems I was hasty, the dude is no pastry,
I guess I shall have to say, "Oh, nuts."

Here's everyone else being morons: ^^^^^^^^

Here's me actually helping:

Although it is difficult to find poems specifically about cars (let alone a specific car), I did find some about racing and freedom more generally:

"Race of Victors," by Walt Whitman

RACE of veterans! Race of victors!
Race of the soil, ready for conflict! race of the conquering march!
(No more credulity’s race, abiding-temper’d race;)
Race henceforth owning no law but the law of itself;
Race of passion and the storm.

Race in this poem refers to race in the sense of a race of men, but it can still work as long as you point out that you are using it differently.

"Freedom," by George William Russell

I WILL not follow you, my bird,
I will not follow you.
I would not breathe a word, my bird,
To bring thee here anew.

I love the free in thee, my bird,
The lure of freedom drew;
The light you fly toward, my bird,
I fly with thee unto.

And there we yet will meet, my bird,
Though far I go from you
Where in the light outpoured, my bird,
Are love and freedom too.

You could easily interpret the bird in the poem as a metaphor for your car (which happens to be a T-Bird ;) ).

There's two to start; and if you need more let me know :) .

You might try Walt Whitman's "Song of the Open Road," although it may have some objectionable material (I've never read the entire poem myself).

The following books might help you, if you can find them in a local library. One is about travel generally, and the other contains poems specifically about driving.
