HUGE rabbits:

Postby Ingemar » Mon Nov 07, 2005 8:12 pm

1. I saw this picture on an image board. I thought it was fake, but the other posters said that giant rabbit breeds exist. So I typed in "giant rabbit" on googe image search and got....

2. .....this....
3. ....and this.

:wow!: Amazing! How do they get them to be so big?

Those are some big bunnies. I believe the last two bunnies are real, but the first one? Looks like it was blown up in Photoshop or something.

I know because I own a rabbit that there are a couple breeds aptly named "giants." Mine is just regular size though, about the size of a small/medium cat. I think medium, mini, and dwarf rabbits are moch more adorable than giants. But of course, that's just my opinion.

My favorite book at the school library years ago was the "Guinness book of Pet Records" They had a pic like that of a HUGE bunny! I bet that one on the left though is larger ^_^

I belive they are raised as livestock in certain countries--mostly for their meat.

Most of those ones are cat-sized like mine, not giants. If you want to see more about giant rabbits, google felmish or checkered giant rabbit. Those are the two most common giant rabbit breeds.

I find myself suddenly. . . frightened. . .
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I have been aware of these rabbits for a long time now. I have always felt that although they would not make good pets because all rabbits are smelly gross animals, they would make a good meal. I would love to try a big heaping helping of rabbit steak!

My rabbit really is an attack rabbit. She snarls at strangers. Just ask MSP.

Rabbits are not smelly and gross if you have them litter trained. Mine acts a lot like a dog or cat.

Those are some big honkin bunnies. Know what would be cool? A pocket sized elephant. Like one the size of a kitten. And it could be litter box trained and it could bring you your slippers and your newspaper and stuff. :D That would be something. *wistful pondering and speculating*
