This is kind of strange to ask, but do you get more excited spending money or saving it? It seems to me that everytime I deposit money in the bank, I enjoy the feeling of knowing that my money is there. That way I can build up on my savings, getting even bigger things in the future.

Whereas, with spending money, I feel a little bit sad knowing that the money is somehow gone. I am happy I bough whatever it is I need, but I am constantly thinking about what I could have used that money for...

Yep. I'm a saver. My nickname in my family is Alex Keaton. ^^ That should tell you something right there.

I agree. Saving money is much more rewarding than spending it. I've found that whenever I splurge on a meaningless item, I end up forgetting it about a week later. I'm like "Where'd that money go? Gah."

I'm funny that way - I love and hate spending money at the same time. If you put me on a trip or something where I have a limited amount of money and no means of getting more, I'm VERY careful with what I spend. XD; But when I'm at home I usually just do whatever with my money.

My friends hate shopping with me - I always end up going in and out of stores mulling over one thing I want to buy, usually making them go back with me several different times before I decide I'm not going to get it, walk out the door, turn right back around, and get it. Or sometimes I do the opposite - make it up to the cashier, then turn around and put it back. =) Go me.

But I save simply because I don't have a regular source of income.

I usually spend my money as soon as I get it... I know it's not good.

I like spending money if I have not spent any in a fortnight or more, or after a particularly tough week at work, or after I have had my exam.

I also like spending other people's money. Hahah.

I love spending money, but I hate not having it. It's a love/hate relationship.

I save before spending, but I don't always save as much as I should.

when i get money i save it most of the time, but i still buy snacks almost every day. However, i have 1 day a year that i allow myself to spend a lot of money in a giant shopping war - Black Friday (day after thanksgiving)

Let's just say I can always find something I'd like to buy. -_-

When I have 20 bucks, I'll generally spend it very easily, but if I have some more substantial amount, little but the jaws of death can wrestle it away from me. I guess I'm just weird that way.

I hate money...I can't make ends meet no matter what I do...

Hmm... Neither myself nor my wife are very into the "must have the latest toys" mentality - and neither of us like to shop. I'll spend hours at frys (local electronics super store) and not buy anything. On the other hand, there are certain projects that I'll spend a fairly decent ammount on. I've got a 30" LCD television with a mac mini and playstation. Everything I need for audio/video/games (including a digital a/v recorder!) I've also wired the whole house for gigabit ethernet, so it's more of a question of what's important.

I've heard some great saving advice. For those of you that haven't heard it, I'll include it here. It's called the 80-10-10 rule. When you get a check, set aside 80% for you to live on. Then set aside 10% for tithe and 10% for savings. If you start it when you are young enough, you wont have to worry so much about getting into money trouble later.

Spending money makes me flinch, but if the product is good enough I do not mind at all.

I'm one of the people that firmly believes that money isn't worth anything unless you spend it. Needless to say, the saying about a fool and his money is certainly true in my case. -.-
