Well Nov 4-6 are the days for Neko Con in Hampton Roads at the new convention center. This will be the first time the con has left the use of a hotel for the operations of the convention to start moving up to bigger and better.
I will be attending as a staff member. Unknown what I will be doing because the group I am on The Good Samaritans has had its operation limited this year because the convention center has said a local member of the emergency services has to handle the emergencies in the center.
I have always dressed the part as Japanese Emergency Tech or Rescue personnel at the show while working. I can' t be missed.

(Um. Where's Hampton Roads and what's a Neko Con (I have a guess but I'd like to know for sure)? I won't be able to make it this year, but if I know what it is, I may consider it next year...)

Sorry There. Hampton Roads is in Virginia, near Virginia Beach, Newport News, Portsmouth and Chesapeake. Southeast of Richmond and Williamsburg.
Neko meaning Cat in Japanese is the name used for the con. The mascot is a cat girl who has appeared in a school outfit and others. This year she's a pirate. Go to search and put in Neko Con and the website should come up.

I'm actually kind of ashamed I've never heard of this. Anywhere I can find more info about it?

Well this year is suppost to be bigger that the past few years since the con has moved to a larger facility since it started. I attended the second show and started volunteering then because they need medics for the show.
This show is number 8 and number 7 for me and I will be working on staff during my birthday and enjoying it.
For info on the con go to Neko Con 8 on search or fansview.com and check the con schedule. There is only two day before the con begins. I have to be there Thursday to help with setup.

Well I will be on the way to Neko Con in a hour or 2. I have to pickup a firend and travel 3 to 4 hours to the show. First I have to check in to my room, unload and maybe get something to eat and then to center to check in with the head of con. If you show up I will be working on the medic group in my Japanese Emergency Uniform.
