New house

We've been living here almost a month now, and I never posted about it here. o.o So, since I have nothing better to do, I shall post now. X3
Here's how the place looked when we first got here. It's a little different now, so I need to take new pics XD

Anyway, the story goes something like this:
Brad's mom and dad told us they were going help us get into a house about, oh, six months ago. We looked at several houses in the area together until about two months ago, when they finally stopped calling us to go look at houses with them. I began to think, "Maybe they changed their minds or something."
In mid-September Vanessa and Carl called us up one evening and said they found another house for us to see. They told us the house was for sale by the owner and that they had been told about it before the sign went up. They also said that the owners had left them a set of keys so we could go in and look around. Finally, they told us that the owners were still in the process of moving out, so there were still some furnishings inside.
So, we looked around. I thought it was pretty nice, you know. I wasn't very enthusiastic by this point since we'd looked at so many houses already.
In the foyer, I saw a Thomas Kinkade painting that looked exactly like one Vanessa has in her home. I said, "Look, it's the same painting you have!"
We went on through the house, scoping things out. The last thing we looked at was the master bath and adjoining walk-in closet (O_O). In the closet was a leather ottoman that I had seen at Vanessa's home several times, along with one of Brad's shirts that we had forgotten to pick up from their house the last time we did laundry. We were like, "Uh, what is Brad's shirt doing in here?" And Vanessa said something like, "You should be able to hang your shirt in your own closet!"
We all hugged and after Brad and I got over the shock, we thanked them profusely XD We were even more thrilled when they told us that everything in the house was also ours-- not only were we getting a beautiful home, but a home full of beautiful furnishings and decorations.
They sat us down and explained that they had come into this neighborhood on a whim to see if any homes were available. And sure enough, one was. It had just come on the market, and several offers had already been made to the owners. They said they were impressed with the house and the neighborhood and figured we would be too, judging from the other homes we'd liked or disliked.
So they bought it that very night, and everything fell into place from there. Vanessa is quite adept at garage sale-ing and found most of the furnishings that way. X3 Then there's the story of my bedroom set: Vanessa found the small dresser at a shop and bought it, but couldn't take it home that day. Later the lady contacted her and said she had the matching dresser and mirror and would give them to her if she could just come get them. ^_^
Sorry for such a long post o.O
