Moving to Tennessee...

Okay, I live in warm, sunny Florida and my parents are dragging me off to cold Tennessee. Not that that's a bad thing. But I'll have to go to public school, move away from a church that I finally fit into, and I have to move away from my sister. But the worst thing of all... I don't know if there's any anime fans in TN! Lol, jk. Can anyone tell me the "perks" of Tennessee? There seems to be more cons than pros right now.

off to cold Tennessee
If Tennessee is cold, I am curious as to what Maine is...
Well, good luck with the move. I am sure that there are going to be pleanty of good people in tennissee for you to make friends with. Moving is always quite an ordeal, but I am sure you will get through it alright.

If Tennessee has any perks, I'm still looking for them. Corrupt city and state politicians, pervasive racial tension, rampant poverty, bottom rung education and health care - what more could you ask for? There are slight smatterings of anime culture in the larger cities but for the most part they're the kind that would make a person ashamed of fans everywhere.
The weather isn't too shabby, though. Long hot summers, short and mild winters and long stretches of nice weather in between. Tennessee also has a lot of trees and is one of the best states for leaf viewing and outdoor recreation.

Well, I'm living in Tennessee now that I'm going to grad school here. I like eastern Tennessee more than the western part, and I like the far eastern part far more than the rest (i.e. the TriCities -- three medium cities close together yet still country enough for this Virginian).
It's a lot warmer here than my home back in Virginia.
And hey, guess what? I'm an anime fan in Tennessee! Now get as excited as you can about me being here as you can, please.

I'll be going to Eastern Tennessee. Probably in the mountains. Around Cocke County, I think. And I'm from FLORIDA. The SUNSHINE state. I've lived here all my life. I can't go through a winter in Florida without getting sick! I'm gonna die!!!!

Oh! I've been there! It's really beautiful, especially in a good fall. While it's different from Florida, I'm sure you'll like it.

I have lots of relatives in TN, so I know a lot about the place. It's prooty cool. And all of my relatives there are anime fans, so you won't be alone. The malls I've been to there have a decent selection of anime too, although I haven't been to that many malls, just two mainly near my relatives. But I really think you'll like it!

I lived in the western part of the state, but according to statistics these problems are pretty evenly spread throughout the state. This doesn't mean it's not possible to find pockets of good living, though. And as far as finding anime, just about any decently sized town will have a Waldenbooks, Borders, FYE and Best Buy. I do have issues with a lot of things in the state but that doesn't mean you have to be miserable while you're there.

You may see snow.
Tennessee was my home away from home, I was born in Ga, and have live here in Ga all my life, but Tennessee as part home to me. I go and see my granddad and grandmother.
Both my mom and dad were from Tennessee!
That have the 2rd biggest anime con in the Southeast, The on in Atlanta, Ga is the biggest of all of them in the Southeast.
You have Dollywood!
Kiyone: she said that she wanted perks, not name something that will make her want to ran across the state line!
But Dollywood was fun or I think it was.

Oh, lol, Dollywood is pretty fun, I've been there. Some of the rides are lame, but most are pretty cool. And the snow is good, though there wasn't any there last year, all my relatives are hoping for a better turn-out this year. And the mountains are REALLY pretty, I really think you'll like it a lot.

I don't know where in Tennessee it is but there's a branch of the
Washington family from Surry co.,Va. that settled in Tennessee and
became known as the Washingtons of Wessyngton.

Oh, yeah, you're moving to a great part of the state, if you're gonna be in Cocke County. It's close to the Tri-Cities, and yes, you do have Dollywood about an hour up the road (not to mention Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg -- pretty good shopping your first few times
).
Oh, and I'm at UT, so I'm about 30 minutes away from the Dollywood exit on I-40. And my home-home is just across the state line in Virginia, so I'll be right around your area, KB.
We need a Southern-Fried Otaku Con now, don't we?

On the bright side, though, you won't have to whether as many hurricanes.

I like Tennessee. Especially the area down around the Smokies. (GO VOLS!)
There's also something about those girls with the southern accents.

Elvis was in Memphis, TN, so yeah, that is a perk. If you like Elvis.
