I say cats are better because they were actually worshiped in ancient Egypt whereas dogs have always been looked down upon as lowly, disgusting creatures up until modern days.

Cats, and I believe this has been brought up before.

There's no right or wrong answer here. Both are popular. Both have huge support. They're all animals, all made by God. So it doesn't matter which one is best.

Personally, I'm a cat person. But it probably could have gone the other way, too, had I had a dog at a younger age. And more successfully.

So my answer is: whatever.

I'm a cat person. I don't like dogs

im a total dog person but im allergic to cats so that contributes if i wasnt i would love both

I'm more partial to human babies.

for me it has to be dogs...... i dont like that litter box smell.

but isnt that showing how evil the cats are... people worshippiong them... and thats not really a good reason to say that they are better... i mean... i could worship potato salad... does that make it better than steak?

Cats! (and natsumi, you could teach a cat to use the toilet, thats what we did ^^)
and just because people worshipped cats doesn't make them evil, its the people who worshipped them who are bad.

but can your cat drag a sled with 4 kids on it for a mile, or do tricks from hand commands, including balancing food on his face for over 5 minutes, while no one is in the room with him? or pull a bike for 7 miles around macinac island? my doggie can (or could, he's a bit elderly now, but he's a siberian husky/malamute mix)
cat's are okay too, but i have to say dogs...

It depends on the mood I'm in, although both can bother you when you're busy or make you happy when you're not. Dogs are often better at the latter for me, though, so I guess I'm a dog person

Dogs are cuter and more fun but cats are less annoying to be around.

Cats. I hate a slobbering dog...not all of them do...but enough of them sure do...

I like cats...but I'm allergic to them.

I think dogs are cool because you can actually play games with them and they're loyal. As long as they aren't those miniature fluffy things that can get sucked into the vacuum, they make great protectors.

Plus, I've never seen a watch cat...

I still say cats are the best. If you look at the cat family you will see that there are more large cats than species of large dogs. Besides, when is the last time you heard a dog purr. I love that sound!

They both have their pros and cons. Cats are less friendly, and the tend to get aggravated quickly. Dogs are happy almost all the time, but they stink like something else. So I like both, but I do think I tend more towards cats.

Oh, yeah, and I'm with Impact-- babies are cool too.

They were both created equal as far as I know, but they're both great companions. The downside to cats is they're always hungry and the downside to dogs is they eat gross stuff.

Not true with my cat, Smokey. He loves everyone (even strangers) and lets little kids pick him up, drop him, hug him, and sit on him and he never cares, though his tail might twitch a little. *huggles Smokey* He also gives my parakeets rides on his back.

Cats can be moody quite often, but I think that makes them more funny. Cats also keep themselves clean for the most part. I do like some dogs but they just smell to bad to me and my poor sensitive nose. Unfortunatly, both have extremely bad breath but what would you expect from creatures who use their tongues as toilet paper.

This can be true, but I find it funny because my cats have been hanging on me all day. One is sitting on my lap purring right now. xD

Hey I just got back from a wolf presentation last night, and they had a guest who got greeted by these two wolves on stage. They licked her face and breathed all over her, and she said their breath didn't stink at all. The expert/wolves' handler said their breath is fresh because they eat bones, which remove tartar build-up. Too bad dogs can't eat bones. Their stomachs can't handle them. *wishes my dog had a bone*

I'm more of a cat person. I admire dogs, but the problem is, I'm too nervous to get near one . I may be allergic to cats, as well, because the last time I carried one, I couldn't stop sneezing.

So, go birds and fish .

I love all animals...but cats are cooler than dogs, they are better predators...not to mention much less of a hastle to keep as pets, i mean you gotta walk dogs and clean up after them and they chew up stuff a lot...but i still like them just not as much as cats

My sister's cats are pretty cute and hillarious to watch when they're playful, but I'm allergic, so... I remain a dog person.

Dogs! Hehe, I'm definitely a dog person! Dogs are man's best friend and loyal. And cats make your house smell, since they release this stuff from glands in their paws when they mark their territory. Dogs are great! I lurve 'em!

Jah but my dog ate 2 of my playstation memory cards...lol...

aye thats what im talking about...my girlfriend only has like a half a pair of shoes because of her dog, whereas my cat hasnt messed up anything in my house at all...and he is loyal and cool, he comes when you call him, and he greats me at the door every day i come home from school

my dog doesn't eat any of my stuff... or anyone elses stuff. Neither did either of my two dogs before that...

btw, this thread's title bother's me. It should read "Which is better?"
