Greetings from the Land of Mave.

In a base attempt to be more popular, Termyt visits the Land of Mave for three dyas at the wondrous Lansing Assembly Plant and four nights at the glorious Hampton Inn.

Now that I am in the same state as Mave, I am more likeable, yes?

nope.

Come on, how could you be more likeable? :)

Michigan! Bah! Perhaps if you went to Electric Avenue! Woot! Yes, then we would like you!XD

No, I don't see how I could like you any more than I do now.

:)

However, if any members of the CAA moved closer to New Zealand... then, THEN I would be happy! It's cool that you're in the same state as Mave for a bit, though. Even if it doesn't make you more likeable, it does make you cooler. ;)

Man, oh man! The last three choices were hard ones. But I finally went with my dad's OSU spirit and picked the last one. ^^ It would be cool for Termyt-sama to be in the Land of Lunis, though. Although I'm not too fond of NJ, it would be cool to meet him.

It makes you no more likable. Termyt is as Termyt does.

However you may like to know that the land of mave is as of a few months ago also the land of Scribs! Make way for public rejoicing in the streets.

Mave is pretty awesome, but you're awesome even without being near her, termyt : )

Termyt is as Termyt does. However, if you were actually visiting Mave the synergy between members would increase overall likability.

Visiting Mave, and Scribs for that matter, would be cool, indeed. However, Michigan is a big place and I have no idea where on the hand they are. I'm only vaguely aware of where on the hand I am.

There's a GM plant in New Jersey, so perhaps I will find my way to the Land of Lunis someday, too.

ROTFL I don't know how being close to me geographically makes anyone more likeable.

termyt, it seems like you were closer to me that you thought geographically. I was visiting E. Lansing last weekend and considering the few Hampton Inns within the local proximity, I reckon that there had to be some moments where you were only a few miles away from me. Or better still, we might have driven by each other without having a single clue. :eh:

But still, I don't recall seeing any hatted guys during my visit so I guess I must have just missed you by chance. ;)

For those of you who picked on my state of residence, may you have lotsa snow wherever you live (if not more than what you already have).

Three years is a long time, so who knows?

Check the poll! It must be true! I hope I'm not sucking popularity away from you.

So close and yet so far.

Don't worry, Hitokiri, I would never abandon oHIo. No matter where I travel, I'll always be a buckeye.

I always find it amusing that people tend to compress vast areas of land into a single concept in their mind. "Inkhana and Ashley both live in Texas, so they're practically neighbors." When dealing with the world, people tend to forget that each state is really rather large.

My brother and sister, in their travels abroad, were stumped by the most illogical of questions: "Your from South Africa? We know people in Kenya - do you know them?" And they didn't ask it as a joke. Its strange how wrong (and illogical) people can be sometimes.

That's funnier than my example. I was thinking about how people expect me to know everyone who lives in the state of oHIo. But having to know every person who lives in Africa would be a bigger challenge.

The Africa question was pretty funny. Almost as bad as when people refer to "the county of Africa." I have a Guatamalen friend who is frequently asked if Gautamala is in Mexico.

bigsleepj wrote:Its strange how wrong (and illogical) people can be sometimes.

Indeed. I wish I had an interesting story that demonstrated that, but since nothing comes to mind, I have to mention a set of lines from the musical "Fiddler on the Roof" that are exactly along the lines of what we've been discussing. In the scene I'll be paraphrasing, several families of Jews are moving from Russia to America:
"We'll be moving to New York, America."
"What a coincidence! We are moving to Los Angeles, America!"
"We'll be neighbors!"

Yes. People seem to assume that since I am from the state of maine, I either A. know Steven King, or B. know some person that they wnow who lives in Maine. Oh the silly antics of the logically challenged.

Michigan? Many CAAers hail from Texas. You can't be more likable on CAA until you visit Texas. ;)

You shall have to answer for that comment, Aizer!!!! michigan shall rule the world!! bwahahaha!
it is this inexcusable mix of ghetto and farmlands (At least my city is - you don't usually think of gang wars by cornfields)

oh, wait... texas? i've never been to texas before... i want to visit texas.

(and i live in the township, so i have a pretty normal subrban neigborhood, don't worry)

ERRRRGGGHHH! I hate to even mention the fact that I used to live in a couple of countries in Africa. MOst of the time my fellow Americans just think its just one little town or something. I mean, one person even asked me to speak "African", *obviously* the universal african language. It just gets on one's nerves. :hits_self
