I've only had one lesson, when I was only about 12, and in that lesson the instructor (huge guy) had this huge body bag thing, and said "I'm going to run at you. You have to kick the bag. *Demonstrated a jump kick*
He ran at me. I jumped and kicked.
I went flying backward upon impact.
I'm glad I knew how to roll to avoid landing painfully. (No idea where I learned that.)
So I didn't really get hurt, but I could have. The other kids in the class had been there for weeks and they weren't very flexible, and still couldn't get the easy punches and kicks down. So I don't think he was a very good teacher. I dunno, maybe the other kids were stupid.
I don't think that guy was very experienced with teaching kids... That was my first, and last lesson ever. I would love to get more, but they're too expensive... And it's hard to find a good place to train.

um...i don't think you ever practice kicks with someone running at you....

(Heh. My worst were (being a defensive nut) when I got kicked in the jaw, and when I went to do a kick and fell down. Suprisingly, it hurt when I fell...)

well I havent had many injuries cause I have sooo much endurance, but back in my early career as a martial artist I had a huge brawl with some buddies who were practicing the arts with me, my ribs and all my bones on my abdomen seemed to be bruised for DAYS, it really hurt to breath eat and talk.

"um...i don't think you ever practice kicks with someone running at you...."
He was just stupid I guess. I figured he'd slow down, or at least stop when he got closer, but he just plowed into me. Or rather, my extended foot.
"well I havent had many injuries cause I have sooo much endurance"
What does endurance have to do with being kicked in the groin or being paired with a really stupid sparring partner?
"well in kajikempo you're taught to throw some VICIOUS kicks"
*Looks* Oh gosh, I can't find that one video.. A guy kicks someone elses leg so hard that he snaps his OWN SHIN, doesn't notice, then retracts his leg and tries putting his weight back on it... Pretty sick. o.o

Ugh, I remember sparring a 2nd deg. black belt while I was the whitest of white belts. He whaled on me so hard that the headgear turned 90 degrees before eventually falling off. We were doing "hands only." Imagine if he were allowed to kick.
This isn't an injury (and it didn't even hurt that bad), but I remember once the blood on my mouthpiece was as thick and dark as blackberry jam.
What really really hurt was when the instructor demonstrated some "thumb" disarms for Arnis. It only attacks your thumb joint, but causes even a heavy guy like me to crumble. Now imagine him demonstrating that technique TWENTY times... I had difficulty writing for a few days.

My worst would be taking a kick to the jaw. When I first started out I wouldn't brace the pads well enough during the kicking drills, so I took a few to the jaw. It's not very painful at the time, but if does cause problems when you try to eat that evening, and sometimes even the next day.

In ckass we had to jump ove ra moving stick and land ina roll. Trickier than it sounds. I just ended up diving into the ground landing alone my next and shoulder on the right side. It didn't really hurt but man did it feel weird. There was a big pop that was more felt than heard. Even sensei's like "Umm... Are you okay?" I'm like sitting there. THe foier is full of people and they'rew just staring at me... @_@
Often enoguh we'd get out the spareing gear. SEnsei put ont he padded gloves and and we'd get the head gear. Even so, a few pops in the face is still rather anoying.
On time my friend was being annoying so I kicked him in the groin.

I have really two times that are tied. (not much experience at the moment)
ONe was when I was sparring with a higher belt. We had no pads on. (we're so poor
) Anyway, he kicked me right in the mouth. That caused my braces to pierce my gums a bit. Didn't hurt too bad, it was mostly shock. Only a little blood.
The other time was when another teacher came in for a mini seminar. He brought sparring gear with him.The black belt paired me up with this guy two times my size. He was all muscle. Anyway, one puch he took at me sent me flying across the room. I didn't want to fall, and so kept on running back until I regained my footing. (if that makes sense) Anyway, it took out my breath for a minute or so. That's why I normally don't fight him...luckily I could wear sparring gear that time.

During the summer, I attempted a butterfly twist and hit the ground with my elbow jammed into my ribs. When I got up, I couldn't breathe for almost 30 seconds. It hurt to do sit-ups for about a week, and I think I might have "dented" my rib cage because to this day there's a little impression on my right side, where my elbow hit.
Before that, I pulled both of my hamstrings within a two-week period. I pulled my left hamstring doing the splits, and my right hamstring when I went too far during an axe kick stretch.
The more general painful injures I sustain are from sparring (e.g. being hit on the shins, forearms, elbows, and getting the wind knocked out of me by side and back kicks).

Probably my most painful experience was when I was throwing punches and kicks while my dad was teaching me and I side stepped so all my weight went on my ankle and I flopped down. It took a lot of pride not to scream and it was extremely hard trust me but I got back up again. it may sound whimpy but when you jump into the air really high and land like that, it immediately sends messages of pain to and from your brain. It felt like a thousand needles were stuck in my leg. And as much as it hurt, as I read other people posts it made me feel even less hurt. But I did break my arm as a baby, though that has aboslutely no point to the thread. ^^;;; I've seen males get kicked in the crotch before and I've never seen anyone in so much pain in my life. My hat goes off to all the boys who suffered this.

I have an incredibly high threshold for pain, so I haven't really been hurt, but I have accidently hurt other people before. One time, in shinkendo, we were practicing some naginata stuff, and I caught the girl with the naginata in the chin with a kiriage from my boken (I don't know if anyone followed that). I also simultaneosly kicked my friend in the groin and gave him a bloody nose with a punch while sparring (I like to throw rapid kick-punch combos).

Ive had all the usuall stuff, broken toe's pulled muscles, been kicked every where immaginable; but i think the worst was in this tournament when I was accidentally thrown up aggainst this person who was a much higher belt rank than me. The fight started and he nailed me in the eye. It felt like I got hit with a bat. He was disquallified for using excessive force. Ive never felt a hit that strong before or since.

ive had my share of bad accidents and pain in the last 19 years. Dislocated my arm 5 times... a couple while punching, almost got knocked out by my dad on accident, fractured my shin bone [serious pain], still hurts after 9 years. Kicked myself in the jaw and knocked it out of place. Made my hand purple. Almost broke my noes.
In my sleep, i have dislocated my toe, made my nuckles purple from punching a brick wall... ouch that is not something to wake up to. Hurt my elbow by elbowing my best friend in the head... haha.
I am sure when i was 4 i gave plunty of adults bloody noses... but that doesnt hurt me now does it

The worst pain for me was bang arm practice...
You basicly constantly hit each others upper forearms, it's a blocking drill, but after a wile it hurts like heck..
