A Bit Morbid...

I don't know why I'm asking, but I suppose this would be directed to the more "senior" members here, namely the mods.
Has there ever been a member of CAA who has died?
I was just curious for some reason, and if not, please go ahead and remove this.

Not sure, good question. I'm not a mod on this site but I am too a little curious...

I was curious myself, but I wasn't sure if the experienced members would take kindly to a lowly n00b asking this particular question.
It would be like this:
New kid from church: You! How many people in your family have died??
You: O_O Who...are you?...

We're all humans, I don't think it matters how many posts you make. Besides everyone here is a Christian so I'm sure they wouldn't mind! ^_~*

I died in Super Mario Bros.
Does that count?

Not sure, in that case I could hold millions of times, halo, halo2, splinter cell, splinter cell2, gameboy games, etc. Though I'm not sure if that's what you meant. ^^;;;

Actually, I was thinking about that the other day. If I were to just die, nobody here would know what had happened. It would just look like I abandoned the forum. People would inevitably come to their own conclusions. Would they think I got mad or grew out of it, or would they not think about it at all?
I have heard some people advise that in addition to a will, everyone should keep a list of their e-mail addresses and passwords to be given to the person left to sort out your affairs. I would feel a bit odd doing that with my CAA account, though.

Yeah, if somone were to die there would be no way to know unless they had a friend who was also on the site. In my case, Olorc would probably tell you if I died. Hopfully that wont happen.

I don't think anybody on this forum would realize or care that I died, I haven't been that swell of a member.

I've been thinking that recently! But I think I'm covered... I have several family members and friends that know I'm on this site, and if something were to happen to me I'm sure they would be thoughtful enough to post something up. God willing, that won't have to happen for anyone here though

Nah, nobody minds

Aww, not true. ^^
But to answer the question, I'm not aware of any members who have died. Ashley would know better than I would, though.

I've been thinking about this for a long time. I have friends here and at our other forums, but our contact has been PMs and Yahoo Instant Messenger. If I were to drop dead they'd never know - they'd not even be able to contact me - or even write to my home address to see if something happened (my e-mail would be inaccesible to the majority of my family members). I'm also going to go away this December to the seaside and might get eaten by a shark (well - I might! I admit it - I am paranoid!). I better stop now - I'm getting existential. Well, I'm sure you'll all fondly remember me as the mysterious Bigsleepj, destroyer of worlds.

I assume many of you would care if I died, but I doubt anyone would know. I suppose it's inevitable that our members eventually die, it would be nice to know when that happens.

if i died....my sister, kazekami would probably tell u....but....i too doubt anyone would miss me as i am not really a noteworthy member....

Every member is noteworthy, Livewire. Even if they rarely post. Eeryone is a vital part of the CAA, even if noone notices.

This is why I will tell my friends to explain that I died (if I die...) to tell CAA...
but if I ask my friend "Hey John... when I die young, will you tell CAA about it?"
he'll think I'm gonna commit suicide O.o

If I died Jeikobu and Crossdive would post about it I'm sure.
I'd add "please don't let anyone die" to my prayer list.

Its so weird. I was actually just thinking about this subject earlier today. I hope its not a premonition. Ive only got a few friends who even know I come here and I really dont think that any of them even know what my screen name is. I doubt that they would remember or even care to let any one here know about it.
Ive seen some members in some really old posts that havent loged in for several years. Makes you think, dont it.

Yes but if I were your friend I would post about it, evey life is precious. No matter who you are your soul does count. Besides people on this board including me would miss you a lot Wise Dragon! ^_~*

Its not they dont care about me, they just wouldn't think that letting any of you guys know about it would be of any importance. I would miss you guys alot though. Maybee I could just tell them to let you guys know about it, then I know they would do it then. (By the way I like your Avatar Eriana.)

Thanks! ^_~*
I'm sure somebody would post for you if you were to die (please don't let that happen!) Besides I would say "I haven't seen Wise Dragon around here that often so I wonder what happened to him" Then I would know something might have happened and made a thread about it and for everyone to look and ask around. (I like your avatar too by the way. ^_~*)

That's so weird that other people think about it too. . . I thought I was the only one! The thing I thought was the most strange idea was maybe going to the funeral of a person you had never actually met! Weird idea, huh?

I've actually had that thought myself. ^^;;;
The hardest part would be giving a speech for the dead person because if you didn't know them and tried to give a speech it would never come out right.

I have thought about it myself. If you are a part of a comunity, it is inevitable that you will think about what will happen to that community if you die.

Ha ha! I've thought about this too. One day I was feeling REALLY sick and I started thinking "What would happen to my CAA account if I just dropped dead? Would any of my friends ever find out what happened to me?" I decided that if I were ever feeling certain I was about to die, I would have Yumie (who wasn't a memeber at the time), post a thread for me.
Being an older-ish member, there are always people who one wonder about (I wonder about Potbelliedcow, and I know not why). I guess it is possible that member have died, but I don't ever like to think that.

I worry about this sometimes too.
Wait, no, I worried about it for other people on the forum, not me. What if they get hit by cars, many cars? Who would tell us, precious?
Hear me now, CAA peoples-chan:
DO NOT GET HIT BY CARS. THANK YOU.

Wow, I actually didn't expect this. And the fact that so many others have thought about this?
This sort of got brought up due to the recent deaths we've had at my school. It just makes you wonder sometimes.

Exactly. Unfortunately, my few friends I invited to this aren't on enough to probably think about that, except maybe my sis.
I died in Super Mario Bros.
Does that count?
Counting all the deaths I've had on every video game... I'd be dead about a trillion times over.
