CAA’s PM Tag Game Sign-up Sheet!

You heard that right. From the maker of CAA’s Amazing Race comes an all-new game! There are no requirements to play; just make a post in this thread saying you’d like to play and I’ll add you into the participants list. Or actually, there is one requirement you have to meet if you want to play, and that’s reading the rules! I’ve said something like this before on the Amazing Race, and it’s even more true in this PM Tag game: if people follow the rules, it’ll run smoother and be a whole lot more fun.

While the Amazing Race consisted of periods of silence with a blast of action at the beginning of every round, the frenetic pace will never let up during the course of this game. You’ll have to watch your back and be quick (and strategic) with your PMs, because otherwise you’re just going to be another tickmark on someone else’s kill list. And that’s a bad thing.

The premise of the game is as follows. People sign up. The round begins at the beginning of a week. From that moment on they try to get ‘kills’ by sending PM’s with a certain message to other players who are also online. Whoever has the most kills at the end of the week wins!

Here are the rules for PM Tag. Read them thoroughly, because you never know if a single disqualified kill could cost you the game!

1) Make sure that you only PM people who are playing the game. We don’t want to become a nuisance to CAA, and I don’t really want to get on the wrong end of the Mods’ fury, so make sure that your target is a PM Tag participant! I recommend you make a text document containing a list of the fighters and make a handy shortcut to it on your desktop or something. You will be ejected from the game if I get multiple complaints of your annoying non-participants.
2) Keep the PMs nice! That doesn’t mean you can’t banter or gloat at all, as that’s part of the fun. Just don’t go overboard with your ridicule or insulting.
3) 'Shotgunning’—using semicolons to shoot off multiple messages—is indeed legal.
4) Remember that you can only send one PM every thirty seconds! Use a bit ‘o strategy to prevent the highest-scorers from using you to increase their lead!
5) Once you’ve been tagged by someone, you can’t tag them back for the remainder of the time they’re logged in! If they log out and then return, though, feel free to get revenge.
6) You can’t rack up multiple kills on a single person. You get one kill per person. Again, though: if they log out after you tag them and then return later, you can tag them again.
7) To reiterate, whoever tags first gets the kill! If A and B see each other on and shoot off PMs, and A’s was sent before B’s, then A gets the kill—even though B’s message will arrive in the inbox.

Since this is the first time we’ve done this game, it may be that the rules will have to be ironed out a bit. But that’s enough to get started with; just keep in mind that the rules are subject to change.

To signal the beginning of the game, I’ll put up a “PM Tag Hubâ€

I'll give it a try, though I have limited computer access. Nothing like violence to bring people together....:P

So, you just have to send a "You're dead!" PM and that counts as a kill?

If you do it before the other guy blasts you, yes. (Although it'd be more fun if it's more creative than that...) :eyeroll:

We have to get SOME sort of theme music for this.
