Yah.. uh.. Has anyone else been watching the news about Katrina? I live pretty close to where it hit so we're getting alot of the refugees here. And I'm not sure but I think I remember someone on here being from New Orleans. o_o So I was kinda wondering if anyone knew who they were and if they were all right.

But, I'd like to know if you guys have been watching the news about it and what you think. Since its the biggest natural disaster in our country's history and all. o_o;

I've been watching the news a LOT...(Fox news, hehe!) It's horrible what's happening down there, what with all the looters and everything. But I hear that there are a lot of really good stories too, but they just haven't put them on the air. I feel really bad for all of the people down there...But I'm glad they're being helped now! n.n Hopefully they'll be able to clean all of this up soon...

they are estimating a month to pump it out, and at least 5 years to get the city close to being livable again.

The looters aren't just down in New Orleans either. Some people who came up to our town as 'refugees' have like.. attacked some of our people who live here and looted their houses. My dad told me about one of the coaches from one of the local schools took a family to his house so they could shower and stuff (cause people have been doing that) and they shot him in the head and stole everything valuble in his house. Its really sad.

There was also a shooting at the center a few days ago too. Some other stuff happened but I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to say. o_o;

But yah its gonna take years to rebuild New Orleans. And it will never be the same either. You cant replace the historical places. o_o;

Hey Did you guys know that the Storm actualy started out in the ocean the very same day that land was taken away from the Israelies and given to the Palistinians. Every time land is taken away from the Israelies..a disastor happens. I think that is very interesting..what about you guys? Me and my mom figured that out..and im sure other people have noticed it as well.

I have been watching a lot of the news.. and I gotta tell yah, It brings tears to my eyes.. to see our fellow country men and women losing everything.. EVERYTHING!

Also to see them act like animals...killing each otehr and all that... It really breaks my heart..and it seems like scifi movie.. Not real life!

I believe everything happens for a reason... I really do think that God has a plane for this.. I mean you look at all the good stories...

I think all of us really need to think about how fortunate we really are... seriously... we are so lucky.

Wow...Know what I just heard on Fox? People in the shelters are gathering around in prayer groups, praying about their situations. Isn't that awesome?? I just find it sad that some of them only do this when there is a catastrophe like this one or 911. But it's still good that people have started turning to God! n.n

People who attack the rescue parties should be treated like animals and either shot or tranquilized. I hope everyone gets a chance to make it out. It would be a shame to survive the hurricane but get killed by the Looters.

Certian areas of New Orlans have been declared war zones. The habitants of the "Projects" have been attacking rescue workers and that area is under marshal law.

People are dieing, starving, in need of help, this is not the time for you to be playing "King of the Ghetto". Getting in the way of rescue workers can cost the lives of dozens of people. Taking out 1 person to save 12 is a fair deal. I just pray that God opens these people's eyes and calms them down. Living in the projects your whole life is quite a bit of suffering but your 15 min. of ShotGun Fame isn't going to compensate.

Just goes to show how Power-Hungry people are, even in the most desperate situations.

Yah that is true. Its also like a thirdworld country down there. One of my teachers said, "We've never had to think 'survival of the fittest' in America. Now they are and the rest of us dont know how to handle it."

I'm not sure if I agree with her or not though. o_o;

Guys. How many threads are we going to have to move and lock before everyone catches on. We have a thread on this. Take further discussion to the stickied thread on the prayer board.
