Does your name have a meaning? If so, does it apply to you?

I've read that my name meant "Truthful." At first that annoyed me, because it seemed so commonplace. ("Of course I tell the truth!") But now I like it. Because telling the truth can apply to writing stories where you try to communicate some truth or other...

And I do try to tell the truth. Even when it doesn't seem like it, I try to be truthful in what I say. (I don't count being sarcastic, though.)

Well I don't know if this makes any sense, but anyway, does your name (your real one), have a meaning and if so does it apply to you?

Mine comes from Ann, which means "grace" or "graceful" last time I checked. It's pretty cool even if it is wrong.

I believe Ryan means Little Prince ^_^

Crystal Anne: Crystal means pure or clear and Anne means Grace. Which since I'm klutzy is really ironic.

My first name means "crowned one" and my middle name means "decending".

My name, Russell, means "little foxy redhead". I am none of the above.

I believe my name, Daniel, means God is Judge. ^^;; I always thought it meant tasty lion snacks.
In all seriousness I don't know how that applies to me, if at all.

My name Tiffany means Appearance of God. uuuuh....not sure how that would apply to me at all...>_>

My own name means "Desired Helmet" or "Helmet of Will/Intent/Desire" or "Resolute Head-protector" or something like that. It totally suits me. I would hate to have a serious head injury.

My name just means the "man from Lucaina" or something like that... It's often linked to, I believe, the greek word for Light, though... So most name cards say something like bringer of light/ Giver of light... Really, it just means that Luke (the Physician) was from a certain Greek city... Lucaina, or whatever it was...

My bio-mom just named her kids after the gospels... Matthew, Mark, Luke... I'm just wondering what she would have done if she had five. "Come here, Acts!"

Ashley means "beautiful meadow among the ash trees", and my middle name means "Reborn". So um, make of that what you will.

I would really like to name my children (at least the boys) biblical names, like Noah or Luke (or Matthias, that's a name you never hear anymore), not out of hope that they will somehow mystically acquire those qualities of their namesake, but hopefully because they will always have a biblical model before them. Watch though, I'll end up with a little boy named Reese. XD

My real name is Crystal... like a couple others... but my meaning from my parents is different -> A crystal reflects and creates a purer light.... so my parents wanted me to reflect who God is and what his love is in a better and purer light than the world could ever create. Also that i would be pure and unspotted because Jesus is the savior of my life.


My middle name Irene = "Peace"

My Last name Harrel: dont know but after my dad it Gained great respect.

Natsumi= "Beautiful Summer" -> i always grew up in tucson where the summers are hot and musty... not a beautiful summer... so i wanted a name that reflects what i desire in a summer .. Also in christian terms it is the higher points of life. SO i want to have a continuous and wonderful higher points of life.

It comes from 1 Samuel when Hannah asked for a son, and "God heard".

It could also just mean that like a honeybee, you work hard but tend to get little recognition for it.

All i know what my name means is "One of Purity" I have a plack on my wall that says that and a scripture under it! ^^

My name means "gift of God." I don't know how much it suits me, but I think it's pretty cool.

I have the same English first name as you dude!

My Chinese name means "the light of dawn" or "the understanding of the light". I am not sure which one my grandfather meant, since he gave me that name. Probably both.

As y'all may have already heard, Daniel is hebrew for Daniyel meaning "God is my judge."

Perhaps not too exciting, but I really like the meaning behind the name.

My middle name Aaron means, "Enlightened; To Sing." Well, at least one source tells me. Another source tells me it has a Hebrew derivation meaning "high mountain or exalted."
