Lip Synching Illegal?

I had caught this little news item on the web. The president of some country ordered that lip synching in his country would be illegal. Just imagine famous singers traveling to this country being arrested if they got caught lip synching to their own music or a anime con where cosplayers would be arrested for lip synching to their recorded skit. I didn't get to look into the whole story because it showed once and didn't pop up again.
Maybe someone else seen this?

Also gold teeth and long hair, and watches must bear his likeness. He also had a rotating gold statue of himself erected in the capital. He's also tried to start some kind of religion/philosophy called Rukhnama. It's pretty screwy, and about on par with Idi Amin calling himself the 'last king of Scotland'

I think those people should read the bible to get the heads up on what happens to people when they start making statues to worship and idolizing someone....

Well, it's not like the people there have much choice in the laws, or when it comes to the erection of public monuments; it's a pretty repressive government after all. In any event Islam is the primary religion there, and it has considerably stricter ideas about what constitutes a graven image.

You also could have mentioned Kim in North Korea as another loony
dictator.

As i understand it breaking the law is a sin, but idolising someone or something other than God is also a sin so they're pretty much screwed.

Is turkmenistan a middle eastern country? Escuse my ignorance...I have just never been too good at geography....
I just don't understand how someone so oppressive could be called a president.
Isn't that more like a dictatorship? I dunno....
I think that we should pray for the people under his rule....
and be thankful for the freedoms that we are able to enjoy....
