Our VCR Is Finally Dead

I was planning on watching one of the anime tapes that I had taped earlier in the Spring,so I got it and put it in the VCR,after much coaxing and then:
IT ATE THE DURN TAPE UP!
Not only that but nothing I could do would make it work properly.
Ok,first it didn't really eat the tape up until much later.First I had to struggle to just get the tape in(it has been like that for some time but usually after
I get pass that stage the tape works however this time it wouldn't even
rewind properly.)So there I am struggling with the VCR trying to see if
it will work and also trying to get the tape out,but nothing I do will
work. The fact of the matter it wouldn't respond to any of the commands, either with the remote(new batteries btw)or manually.
So right now there it sits unplugged and with a partially digested anime
tape in it.
Talk about bad luck.
