I noticed thatthe mods said no underwear/ bra can be showing on the anime characters.... but bathing suits can. Is there any difference?

bathing suits are made to be seen by the public. Underwear is... well... private.

If I had to guess I'd say underwear is meant to be covered up, and tends to be more sensual.

Of course, if someone posted a pic with the swimsuit equivalent of Victoria's Secret, I bet the Mods would take it down

Like AH said, I think the difference is the nature of the thing. Undergarments are explicitely sexual in nature. When you see a chick in her under stuff, you know that this is NOT something you're suppose to see. It's intimate.

Whereas a swim suit, bikini or not, is more typical. It doesn't have the inherently sexual connotations of underwear.

Personally, I would never post a character in a bikini or undergarments, regardless of policy, because I would feel responsible for putting something before my brothers' eyes that might cause them to stumble.

There's my two yen.

I agree. If you must post a female character in a swimsuit, make it a one-piece outfit. For everyone's (and modesty's) sake.

As others have stated, if you were to post the bikini equivalent of a girl (or guy) in their underwear, we would take it down. We're not going to be legalistic about it and forget the principle. Heck, we have taken down pictures of women that, for all pratical purposes, were fully clothed and yet were still highly sensual and inappropriate.

Plus, well, I don't really know if it's too important that we worry about the mods decision. I mean, I don't know if that's your intention, Natsumi-chan (I doubt it is), but in case anybody gets the idea that we're voicing our opinion about their decision. . . well that's probably just not a good idea. All in all we should just do our best to protect our bro's. I mean let's face it, a bathing suit cut can be the exact same as an underwear cut, so what's the big deal?
The big deal is that boys can stumble over bathing suits too. So all in all, let's just watch what we throw out there, remembering that boys are affected way more by what they see than we are, and that we should in no way want to do anything that would cause them to sin, because we love them! ^-^

I agree! I mean...why would anyone post something like that anyway?

Besides that, I, personally, happen to find "bathing suit" pics more attractive, and I'm not referring to those skimpy kinds that show just about everything. Heck, even a one piece can be very nice looking without having to be sensual.

Two-pieces can be done modestly. I've done it myself dozens of times, but too many people seem to think otherwise... -_-;

I think the main problem is that sometimes, no matter how modest a two-piece is, that much leg-and-stomach-and-whatever-else can still be too much for a guy to handle. I'm really not bashing two-pieces, mind you, I wear very modest two-pieces myself; I guess more or less I'm just trying to look at it from a guys view. But I trust that if you draw them, you would make them modest :thumb:.

Well, as you can see by the little arrow-thingy by my name, I am guy, and though I sometimes have impure thoughts, I typically manage to keep them as clean as possible. However, I can understand how alot of guys can react this way-- is just in the nature of being a male.

If I ever post anything in the future that may seem provocative or sensual, then please remove (though I doubt anything I do will be like that).

Yeah, I'm not saying you're a girl, I'm just saying that trying to look at it from the average guy's perspective I imagine it's rough; however I don't know if you're an average guy or not, lol, so that's why I said what I said. Sorry for the confusion there

but most bikinis and underwear show the same amount of skin... yes their are exceptions...... so i think the amount of skin is what makes it inappropriate. Not the lace or lack their of. The design is overrun by the amount of skin. NM all this is irrelevant.

I know, I was just kinda joking with ya.
I'm definetly not an average guy (having been pretty much afraid of girls up till the ninth grade, and there's still some that scare me). I'm one of those that definetly belives in the "beauty comes from within", especially with alot of the so-called "beauty" floating around in our world.

Yes and no, but it's also in the amount of detail. You could draw either style to show part of the breast or cleavage and it would typically be considered inappropriate, though at the same time you could avoid that and instead do "oversized" breasts, still typically making it inapproriate.
